** Imperial Storm / War Officer **

The final Imperial Storm II results are out:

TF Doom - 1780 Victory Points

TF Silver Saber - 1345 Victory Points

TF Flaming Arrow - 1020 Victory Points

Congratulations to Vice Admiral Adrenaline and her team. Their strategy of capturing planets early on seems to have paid off!

One thing that ImpStorm showed is that although it can be great fun for all participants, it does require a tremendous amount of planning and on-going work - particularly from whoever is running the game. Therefore, in consultation with several members, a new position within the TIE Corps has been created - War Officer :

(as taken from the Training Manual - under Imperial Advisors)

War Officer

Position Description: The War Officer is in charge of wargaming activities within the TIE Corps, and works under the authority of the TIE Corps Commander (TCCOM). He or she is responsible for evaluating the rules of wargames and skirmishes, reporting wargame reviews and results to the TCCOM, as well as plotlines for future games. The War Officer is also tasked with maintaining the Wargaming Manual and website.

Rank: The minimum rank for this position is Rear Admiral, and the maximum rank is Admiral.

Command Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and approving new wargame rules for use in the TIE Corps.
  • Reviewing and approving new complex skirmishes rules for use in the TIE Corps.
  • Documenting fleets and rules used in all official Wargames and Skirmishes in the TIE Corps.
  • Functioning as Game Master in larger scale wargames, such as those between Battlegroups or TC-wide (or smaller ones as necessary).
  • Organizing larger scale wargames, like those between Battle Groups or involving the full TIE Corps or EH Subgroups. (for example: the yearly "Imperial Storm" operation.)
  • Keep a record of all wargames, past and present, on a regularly updated WO website.
  • Maintain and revise the Wargaming manual as necessary.

With the creation of this new position, I am now taken applications for the first WO. The requirements for all applicants are as follows:

  • Be a member (in good-standing) of the TIE Corps for no less than SIX months
  • Have some form of Command experience (ideally WC+)
  • To be familiar with all aspects of Wargaming (running of, rules etc), and be prepared to run large-scale games
  • To have a basic grasp of HTML, and be prepared to create & maintain a Wargaming manual and site
  • You must be able to work amicably with all Flag Officers within the TIE Corps.

Note: This will be a full time position and as such, if picked, you'd have to leave your current position.

All applications should have "War Officer" in the subject and should be emailed to spellfire@btinternet.com & pellaeon2000@cs.com by next Friday.

A timely reminder to all members of the TIE Corps - please follow the Chain Of Command (see below) if you have any questions or concerns. Please don't send an email straight to the Fleet Commander with a problem that could just as easily be solved by your CMDR or WC.
