ISD-II Grey Wolf
Commodore's Report #2
8th March 2005

<salute>

Another week comes and goes and I'm still GW COM.....whats going on here? :P Anyway, not feeling particularly witty or charming at the moment so I'll just get straight onto the report....it's a little better than last weeks. Enjoy!

Fleet/ASF News;
- The position of Commodore is open on the Intrepid. Hopefully Gidda will find someone suitable to fill the position soon, dont want one of our sister ships uncommanded do we? I wonder just how much mischief they're getting up to over there....everyone make sure to deny any requests to dock on the GW from any members of the Int...they might try something whilst they're leaderless :P
- A new TCCOM's Own banner has been chosen! So Praetorian have a flash new banner to parade around. How about next time we make sure it's a Grey Wolf squadron holding the banner eh? Or at least an ASF squadron....hell there IS 24 sqds to chose from!
- FA Cyric put up a list on the TC news page of all the open positions throughout the TC. Unfortunately, most of them are from within the ASF...a problem that will hopefully be fixed in a very short time!
- New battles released! TAC Frodo has gotten on his high horse (stool?) and announced the release of XvT-DB 14 and BoP-TC 25! Fly them and earn some valuable FCHG and see if you cant win May's Wolfpack FCHG Competition!
- On a final note from the news this week.....Yoda has complained that a lot of people are not awarding medals with proper details and reasons....please do not let this be or become anyone in this wing!

Ship News
;

- New WC: The most important news on the ship this week is of course the appointment of LC Ambar Kilick to the position of Wing Commander. I think you'll all agree that it's good to see our most experienced CMDR as WC. It was a shame I had to rob Vortex Squadron of such a great and active CMDR, but we're hoping we can find someone just as active and dedicated to take over.

- MSEs: Alrighty. I'm happy to say that after all my problems with my comp in the past few weeks, I've finally got all the March and now April MSE medals done and approved. I've also recommended and had awarded all of the April Wolfpack competition medals. Congrats to Kodiak on his ISM for March and IS-SR for April GFX, LT Blackrage for his PC and BS for March and April, along with his IS-SW and IS-BW for April's FCHG and CR races. And let us not forget the dearly departed COL Brucmack, who was awarded a BS for combined March/April activity and an IS-SW and BW for 1st and 2nd in the Wolfpack CR and FCHG races respectively. I genuinely hope that for May I get a chance to put through even more medal requests for monthly activity and competition rewards for members of this wing!

  Whilst on the topic of MSE's and medal requests I'd also like to bring home the point that Yoda spoke about in his TC news post. I want every CMDR on this ship to keep as detailed activity records as they can, as they can only help in the recommending and awarding of MSE and other such medals. If your MSEs have well detailed reports in them, then it makes it much easier for Ambar and I to recommend a fitting award and it means that more often than not, Yoda will not have to deny or require more info to approve a request. I'm sure you'll all agree....the less time the members of the wing have to wait for their medals the better.

- Open CMDR positions: Currently, there are three open CMDR positions in the wing...Vortex, Odin and Valkyrie. So far we have gotten a couple of applications, but not as many as I would like considering we have so many positions open. If anyone from within the wing is interested, please let us know ASAP so we can consider you for one of the positions! Alternatively, if you know anyone from outside of the Wing/ASF who is looking around for a position or considering applying, if you haven't already....encourage them to do so. It's always nice to promote from within a wing, but it's often a great thing to bring in some new blood.

- Competitions: As you will already know if you've read Ambar's report, he has come up with a couple of new competitions that will run in conjunction with the existing Wolfpack competitions. Keep an eye out for these and participate in them if they take your fancy/are up your alley. Now that I'm Commodore, any questions/comments or complaints about the Wolfpack competitions, should be sent directly to Ambar. He is now in charge and will be recommending month end medals for the winners from now on. Don't forget everyone.....Gidda now has monthly ASF wide HS comps.....this month it is XWA Free 112 and XvT Free 137. You have until the 24th!

- Recruiting: My final topic for this report is.....you guessed it (and if you didn't - *slap*), recruiting. We are currently sitting at 38 members, although everyone in the wing knows that we're not as active as our numbers indicate. We desperately need some new bodies in the wing and infact the entire ASF, so everyone should be doing what they can to recruit more members to the ship/ASF/TC. There may also be a competition or two involving recruiting new members *hint hint*. Emailing old members in RSV's, offering assistance to cadets and posting messages on external sources (messageboards, yahoogroups etc) are all excellent ways of attracting new members. Do what you can, when you can and you WILL be rewarded!
