Commodore Report

Ship News

-First off I must begin this COM report by stating that I have just sent in the request to Cyric to reopen Tornado Squadron. Tornado Squadron will be run by none other then Chal vetrean LC Chris McCollum, who in the matter of a few days has helped me to recruit a mix of old vets and r/l people to form Tornado Squadron, which will launch with the size of *7* people. Congrats go mostly to LC Chris McCollum and Tor vet and soon-to-be TorFL2, LCM Cyprus, who really did much of the work for getting Tor recruited and off the ground. The Challenge will now stand as the largest in the TCBG, and is quickly nearing being the largest ISD in the fleet period. Course, the greatest accomplishment is what you all have already done: making is the most active :) But I am most pleased to see the return of one of the great squads of the Challenge, and hope it serves as a precursor to many more great things, such as the day when we one day return to being the six-squadron ship we more then deserve to be :) But anyways, continuing on...

-This week has been rather enjoyable. With pretty much all of the MSEs in, I'm looking at getting to dish out some hefty rewards for a bunch of you, something I'm very much looking forward to doing :) Already this week a number of awards were given out for all of the regular ship comps, and I'll be rec'ing out this week the MSE awards, so stay tuned. You guys did an incredible job in March, amounting to much more activity then any other ship in the BG by far and maybe even the fleet, and you can count on being well rewarded for such outstanding service :)

-An update on the RelvsChal comp! So far I've gotten a decent turn-out and some AMAZING posts from the run-on! I still could use a lot more pilot files though for this comp, and would very much like to see some more posting on the run-on. In case you missed out, this week Chris, George, Az and I went on a bit of a misadventure across the galaxy amoung other events with mishaps and such from Typh pilots and other such things. This week, the plot changed when we confronted the Rebel fleet and discovered it to be a fleet of over 300,000 tugs, which have since then been destroyed. Now what do we do? George would like the rest of the run-on to take place in the cantina, but it truely is up to all of your :) To encourage flying again in the flying portion, I have again attached the files to this report. Remember, the deadline for this comp is this Friday, so please get them all into your CMDRs (CMDRs, to Cor ;P) by then!

-This week's new pilot (before the storm of new pilots from Tor comes rolling in ;)) is LT Katherine Cantor Flyer! She came in with one of the best INPRs I've ever seen, proceeded to quickly ascend to LT and has gone on quite a tear with IWATS and flying. And best of all: a huge Babylon 5 fan. Sounds like an amazing addition to the Typh line up to me ;) Again, welcome to the Chal!

-This week's meeting had good attendance and a good time was had by all, especially Captain Dirty Vader, who won trivia for the night. Next week's trivia topic: A New Hope! Remember, trivia is at 9pm EST, although whether or not we keep that time slot will depend on how attendance is. Speaking of attendance, a change in the meetings has been made: the person with the best attendance for the month shall recieve an IS-SR. If there's multiple people tied, both will get an IS-SR. So, hopefully more incentive for showing up... course this may backfire if I end up giving out 8 IS-SRs ;)

-Bonini's email addy changed this week to boninidaniel@yahoo.com.br

Competitions

ISD Challenge vs. ISD Relentless/Flaggie Slap Fight - During the period of March 25th to April 8th, the Challenge and the Relentless will engage in hostilities in the way of missions and a run-on. All pilots of the ISD Relentless and the ISD Challenge will fly TIE-FREE #193 and XWA-FREE #115.

By the end of April 8th, each ship will add up and submit a total score of all TIE pilot files for their TIE score, and a total score of all XWA pilot files for their XWA score. The two highest scorers in each division will be awarded a IS-SW and a IS-BW respectively.

At the same time, all pilots of the ISD Relentless and the ISD Challenge shall participate in a run-on to be done in the TCBG forum under the supervision of the BGCOM. The topic shall be that the Relentless and Challenge must work together in a seek-and-destroy mission against a Rebel task force.

During the first week pilots shall describe various rivalries going on while the two ships are hunting down this task force. Battle against the rebel task force shall not begin until, a week into the competition, a post is given (by VA BubbaX) to indicate that the rebel forces have been found a battle has commenced. The ship that accumulates the most posts in the run-on shall be declared the victor of that division. Each run-on post must have significant substance, and ultimately whether a post counts or not shall be decided by VA BubbaX

The ship that wins at least 2 of the 3 divisions (TIE, XWA, runon) shall be declared the winner. At the same time, a side-comp involving the teams of the ChalFlags, the RelFlags, and the BGCOM and Mell shall compete against each other using the same TIE and XWA missions to have the right to brag against the others all day long and will also be awarded an IS-GW. Each team will fly the TIE and XWA missions, and both scores will be added together together to produce a final score. The team with the highest score shall be the victors.

Pilot of the Week/Month - Every week Cor will choose a pilot to be pilot of the week. Then at the end of the month, I will choose one of them and declare them the "Pilot of the Month". The PotM will recieve a IS-SR, while the remaining PotWs will be given IS-BRs.
This Week's PotW: CM Dulcatos!!!

Challenge Meetings in #wing_x - Every Sunday at 9pm EST (GMT -05.00) we willl converge upon #wing_x and, after briefly discussing Wing events, will jump into a game of trivia or other such things. An IS-BR will be awarded at the end of the month to any person who wins an #wing_x event. If a person wins two #wing_x events over the course of a month, he will be awarded an IS-SR.
New Addition: Person with the highest attendance at the meetings for the course of a month will be given a IS-SR.
This week's Trivinator: CPT Dirty Vader

Squadron of the Month - Every month I will declare a squadron the squadron of the month. The CMDR will be awarded the IS-SR, and any member he believes helped his squadron achieve that award will be awarded an IS-BR.
March 2005 Squadron of the Month: Inferno Squadron
