Ship News

- This week has been one of those really remarkable weeks for the Challenge, one of those weeks where you can't help but be thrilled that you're a part of this amazing ship :) You guys flew *tons* this week, we got a total of *5* new members... all in a week! And while I'll get into the specifics below, let it be known that all of you are continuing to just be awesome, and that, with MSE time coming, I can promise you that it will be very well rewarded! :) Keep up the fantastic work!

- So, let me give a big welcome to all our new arrivals this week! For Typhoon, LT Sempren Kale comes to us straight from the CadetFactory, as does LT Arthur Janus, who deserves special notice because he was originally stationed on the Van, came to #wing_x and rather then being scared out of his mind, decided to join up with us! Two very welcome additions there :)

LCM Ryan and LT Narraku join up in Inferno from the reserves, both of who, I should note, are Typhoon alumns ;) Welcome back to the Chal!

Finally, special welcome to LT Haedaliel Belil-Gaviel, who against all advice, has decided to try her luck in surviving in Tempest Squadron. Good luck to you! ;)

-As some of you may have heard, we are currently working on reopening Tornado Squadron. To do so, we will need a CMDR who will help me recruit 6 other members not currently stationed on the Chal to help reopen this once famous squadron. Therefore, Cor and I are currently accepting applications for TorCMDR. In this applications, I am looking mostly for how you plan on recruiting the rest of the squadron. If you're dedicated enough to work for this CMDRship job, I already know you're going to be a good CMDR. Cor and I just need to know how you're going to help pull this off. Don't worry; I'll be directly assisting the TorCMDR in this endevour, but in the end it is his responsibility to form this squad, and therefore this is a CMDR job only the dedicated should apply for. I will take apps until about the end of the week, and will make my decision public, although the TorCMDR will have to endure "unoffical" status until the squadron is reformed and recommissioned.

-Because it's pretty much the end of the month, I have decided to take this oppertunity to announce the Pilot of the Month and the Squadron of the Month.

::drumroll::

This month's Pilot of the Month, as announced in yesterday's meeting, is Colonel George!!!!

This month's Squadron of the Month is Inferno Squadron!!!

I will say both awards were very close and that while Inferno and Typhoon were virtually tied, I had to give it to Inferno Squadron on account of the amazing improvement they've had since February. Keep up the amazing work though, all of you, as this award is truely anyone's game for next month :)

-Our comp with the Rel is going rather well. So far a number of you have flown the comp mission, although I do hope to see many more flying entrees as the comp progresses :) Special note to Daniel Bonini, who's actually captured the TIE high score for the mission overal! :D I've attached the comp missions to this email to make them even easier for all of you to obtain ;)

I do want to talk about the run-on though: Right now, I've been *very* impressed with all the diverse amount of people we have making entrees. That's great and I'm really proud of it :) Unfortunetly, at the moment, we have one pesky Rel pilot who's making a post pretty much right after every one makes a post, to the point that the Rel was winning even though they've only had 2 different pilots make a post! Therefore, I encourage all of you to post as much as you can in this thing! We've already had some great activity in it, and no matter what happens I'm definetly already proud of all of you who have participated. But I don't think we deserve to lose, so I ask all of you to go for repeat posts. Although you can't post immedietly after yourself, just check back and as soon as someone has posted after you, give another one in. You'll notice that Chris and I have adopted a "tag team" strategy of posting right after each other constantly, and right now it's working pretty well :) While it is in the comp section, I will mention that you can find the run-on here.

-Medals have finally been awarded from last month! Cor's mentioned most of the significant ones in his WC report, so I just want to give a big congrats to all who were awarded. I'd also like to mention that we'll be having a *number* of big awards this month, and that I am looking forward to getting to those very soon in the future ;)

Competitions

ISD Challenge vs. ISD Relentless/Flaggie Slap Fight - During the period of March 25th to April 8th, the Challenge and the Relentless will engage in hostilities in the way of missions and a run-on. All pilots of the ISD Relentless and the ISD Challenge will fly TIE-FREE #193 and XWA-FREE #115.

By the end of April 8th, each ship will add up and submit a total score of all TIE pilot files for their TIE score, and a total score of all XWA pilot files for their XWA score. The two highest scorers in each division will be awarded a IS-SW and a IS-BW respectively.

At the same time, all pilots of the ISD Relentless and the ISD Challenge shall participate in a run-on to be done in the TCBG forum under the supervision of the BGCOM. The topic shall be that the Relentless and Challenge must work together in a seek-and-destroy mission against a Rebel task force.

During the first week pilots shall describe various rivalries going on while the two ships are hunting down this task force. Battle against the rebel task force shall not begin until, a week into the competition, a post is given (by VA BubbaX) to indicate that the rebel forces have been found a battle has commenced. The ship that accumulates the most posts in the run-on shall be declared the victor of that division. Each run-on post must have significant substance, and ultimately whether a post counts or not shall be decided by VA BubbaX

The ship that wins at least 2 of the 3 divisions (TIE, XWA, runon) shall be declared the winner. At the same time, a side-comp involving the teams of the ChalFlags, the RelFlags, and the BGCOM and Mell shall compete against each other using the same TIE and XWA missions to have the right to brag against the others all day long and will also be awarded an IS-GW. Each team will fly the TIE and XWA missions, and both scores will be added together together to produce a final score. The team with the highest score shall be the victors.

Pilot of the Week/Month - Every week Cor will choose a pilot to be pilot of the week. Then at the end of the month, I will choose one of them and declare them the "Pilot of the Month". The PotM will recieve a IS-SR, while the remaining PotWs will be given IS-BRs.
Pilot of the Month: COL George!!!
This Week's PotW: CPT Dirty Vader!!!
Last Week's Winner: CPT Dirty Vader
2nd Week's PotW: COL George!
1st Week's PotW: LT Marlin!

Challenge Meetings in #wing_x - Every Sunday at 9pm EST (GMT -05.00) we willl converge upon #wing_x and, after briefly discussing Wing events, will jump into a game of trivia or other such things. An IS-BR will be awarded at the end of the month to any person who wins an #wing_x event. If a person wins two #wing_x events over the course of a month, he will be awarded an IS-SR.
This week's Trivinator: COL Sephiroth!!!
Last week's Trivinator: CPT Dujhod
2nd week's Trivinator: CPT Dujhod!
1st week's Trivinator: CPT Dujhod!

Squadron of the Month - Every month I will declare a squadron the squadron of the month. The CMDR will be awarded the IS-SR, and any member he believes helped his squadron achieve that award will be awarded an IS-BR.
Squadron of the Month: Inferno Squadron!!!

TC Battlegroups News

-The biggest piece of the news this week centers around an event in our own TCBG! The ISD Immortal, where a number of you once called home and a ship I once commanded, was recommissioned! The reason for this was that it will be used to test a new platform developed in-house by the Science Officer. They are accepting 11 testers. If you are intrested in testing this new platform and are willing to leave the Challenge, head over here for the details.

So ends what was one of the most amazing weeks in activity I've ever seen on the Challenge. You guys have been amazing and all of you who are deserving (and that's quite a few) are going to be well rewarded. I can promise you that for long as you keep it up I will always make sure that each and every one of you is treated well for it, and I will always appreciate the activity that you all put in because not only does it do so much for yourselves, but it goes even further into strenghtening this ship and showing the rest of the TC what a powerhouse and a force we are. Keep it up guys, you're making the Challenge the stuff of legends ;)

Respectfully Submitted,
