Pilot's Lounge

Imperial Diplomacy - Part IV

"All right, follow me, men," Captain Khameir Sarin said.
Sarin opened a floor grate and jumped down into the hole left by the grate's absense.
Soon after, the members of the team followed.
"Excellent, now, let's move in."

"Now Major Tagelby... I want you to get me the names of every Imperial Intelligence operative in this sector," Vice Admiral Perry said.
"I can't do that!" Tagelby insisted.
"Oh, yes you can," Perry said, pointing a blaster at Tagelby.
Just then, a grate opened in the room and several Vortex pilots leaped out.
"Freeze, scum!"
Perry grinned, "Very well, but you'll never make it out of here!"
He then hit a button, which triggered a series of alarms to ring throughout the complex.
Sarin turned on his Comlink and said, "Khadgar, we're in a bit of trouble! Could you send a shuttle in?"
He overhead Khadgar give a command to one of his staff, and suddenly turbolaser shots blasted through the roof of the complex.
Shortly after, a shuttle came down with its ramp lowered.
A troop of guards came into the room at that moment.
"Stop, no one escapes the New Republic... In fact, those who do..."
"Shut up you idiot, they're getting away!" Perry yelled.
Just then, the shuttle took off and left the complex in a flash of light. "You let them get away, you fools!" Perry said, "All right... Send in the Calamari fleet!"

On the bridge of the ISD Grey Wolf, Khadgar looked at Sarin, "Great work getting Tagleby out."
He turned to Raxis and Brian, "Did you get those things planted on the Calamaris like I requests?"
"Yes Sir!"
"Excellent... Here they come now! Look alive, everyone!" Khadgar looked upon the large Calamari fleet that came out of a nearby nebula.
"Incoming transmission, Sir!"
"Put it on."
"ISD Grey Wolf, you are clearly outnumbered, pull out now!"
"I have a better idea," Khadgar said, "I'd suggest that you pull out before I decide to blow up the mines that I have planted on your ships."
After a moment, the Calamari Cruisers all left the system in unison.
"Why didn't you blow them up, Sir?" Commander Brian asked.
"They weren't really mines, just clumps of medal with minor explosive elements in them... They are mostly harmless."
Laughter broke out on the bridge.
"Anyways," Khadgar said, "Take us out of here!" Major Tagelby approached Khadgar.
"Khadgar... I am..."
Khadgar spun to meet Tagelby's glance, "You're...?"
"... Sorry. I shouldn't have criticized your calls."
"It's all right, Tagelby, now, assume your post."
"Yes Sir!"

Wing XIII Monastery

From the Desk of Cardinal Khadgar...

The Cardinal's Topic for this week is: Half-Life Counter-Strike.

Frankly, Counter-Strike is a great game. I usually don't get to play it with my duties, but every now and then, "Crouching Sniper, Hidden Camper" strikes.
Basically, the game is set in a Counter-Terrorist vs Terrorist fashion.
In each map, there will be an objective for one side to complete, such as "Terrorists Plant the Bomb" and "Counter-Terrorists Rescue Hostages".

After playing the game, I have developed some strategies to help with play:

1. When someone calls you a "n00b", that means you're doing well.
2. When someone says that "camping sucks", that means you're winning.
3. The AWP is the best weapon, although no one admits to using it, because it is considered a "Newbie Weapon".
4. Follow some guy around and steal his weapon when he dies.
5. When the going gets tough, the tough camp.
6. Hide beside doors, and when people come in, shoot them in the back. This will usually get you called a "camping n00b", but ignore those people. 7. Grenades are a great way to waste money if you don't know how to use them.
8. Never kill any players named "Khadgar" or "Khadgar" using another alias, because this player is the ultimate master of the Counter-Strike universe and can do nasty, evil things!
9. Type while playing to make the game more interesting.
10. Hide at your start location and never move out. This is likely to make you very popular in the game!

Aggressor Strike Force Site

Admiral Cyric would like everyone to register a name at the Aggressor Strike Force Site! It is locoated at http://www.asforce.f2s.com/new/.

Don't skip more than one mission!

From Fleet Admiral Striker:

"Mission skipping...

..is only allowed in case of a bug preventing the mission from being completed, which is extremely rare. From now on I will strictly apply the current cheating policy, and I will cancel any BSF with some mission skipped where 1/ there is no mention of a bug or 2/ for which no bug report has been submitted (which are to be submitted before submitting the pilot file), without any notification (until the database supports such a nice feature); the concerned battle or mission will be simply removed from your combat record. Furthermore, I am seriously considering forbidding skipping missions for ANY reason, as I have noticed too many abuses of this policy. If a mission has got a high score, maybe should you consider the possibility that someone did complete it and thus that the mission can be completed."

Design a Bad Guy

High Admiral Astatine has started a new Competition to design a Bad Guy for the EH! More information is at http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/badguy/.

Commodore's Office

The issue of the week is Transfers.

Unfortunately, a number of people think it is acceptable merely to ignore Wing XIII's Transfer Procedures.

If you're a CMDR, make sure the WC and COM are informed of transfers that you hear of!

If you're planning on transferring do not talk to someone in another Wing first, talk to your COM, WC and CMDR first! They will handle it from there.
