The
June cycle of Monthly Ship Evaluations were completed and awards handed
out. I'm happy to report that General Elwood The Brave got the Gold
Star of the Empire and General Dempsey got the Bronze Star as far as
big ticket medals. The Squadron Simulation Supremacy and Blacksmith
Medals for June were also awarded and our sub-lieutenant has hatched
into a full Lieutenant!
The deadline set for Strategic Operations Officer (SOO) applications
was reached today at 12 AM GMT/7 PM EDT. Admiral Mitchell is likely
looking them over in conference with the Command Staff, so let's be
patient with him as he makes his analysis and decision. Let's make sure
to give our new SOO our best foot forward and work together with them
and the TCCOM to bring about a practical roadmap to both maintaining
interest in our current member-set while also expanding and making our
presence known for new blood.
As part of an effort to reinvigorate our competitive spirit, I have set
up in conjunction with the COO, a special set of competitions for both
the Hammer
and the TIE Corps as a whole. These are called the Weekly Hammer
Shootout and the Weekly Ship Shootout respectively. These Shootouts
focus on head to head teamplay with squadrons facing squadrons in
X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance.
These competitions share the following goals and rules in common:
There must be at least 3 pilots at a minimum for a
squadron to be considered present. Only 'present' squadrons will
compete formally in the shootouts. Individual pilots may play
afterwards in our free sessions held afterwards.
Squadron commanders will be queried weekly by the COM
to determine attendance and best date/time for the event. The event
will not have a specific set date per week to accomodate as many as we
can.
For the Weekly Ship Shootouts, matchups are Hammer vs
Warrior. The winning squadron is the one with the highest culmulative
kill count. Individual pilot performance will also be awarded.
Weekly Hammer Shootouts will be fought the same way
with the individual squadrons of the Hammer. The winning squadron is
the one with the highest culmulative kill count and individual pilot
performance will be awarded as well.
Awards for both consist of IS-GW for top pilot per
month, IS-SW for participating member of the winning squadron, possibly
a DFC based on performance. Yearly the top pilot gets an IS-PW, IS-GW
for the winning squadron, SW for #2 and BW for #3
I must report that MAJ Jedgar, CM Sergeyli, LCM Drake Thoros
and CPT Ibram Gaunt are considered AWOL per the result of the AWOL
check conducted in Alpha Squadron. We'll be discussing the future of
Alpha Squadron internally, and we hope the pilots do return to us in
the future.
I've also stepped up efforts to advertise our presence, a thread in the
X-Wing/TIE Fighter forum in GOG as well as a supplement to COL
Impulse's Steam post and a posting on the /r/StarWarsGames subreddit
has been made. Also as a reminder, we have a subreddit of our own at
http://reddit.com/r/TIECorps!
The Discord server and subreddit were both updated to reflect AD Pete
Mitchell's status as TCCOM as well as removing mods that are no longer
in an eligible position to hold that status.
