Hello to all of you... it is my regret to inform you that as of today, RA Darklord has stepped down from his position of Challenge COM, request a demotion to General, and a transfer to the reserves. Darklord has been with the Challenge a long time and has done many a good thing with it; his loss will be felt.

So ready for the week-filled of wondering who the new COM will be and the gossip of he-said-what in his application and who's brother's nephew's best friend thought he heard the new COM would be? Too bad, it's already been decided ;) I have been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and have been appointed COM of the Challenge :)

So who is this guy you may ask? Most of you already know me as Locke, and I have spent the past year as Commander of Tempest. With the year I was with Tempest, we did a lot of incredible things, and as I'm sure you all know, we never lost. But that wasn't what I was proud of most. What I always had the highest pride for was our 100% participation in all competitions. That was great for Tempest, but they're only a part of the whole picture.

Recentely I think we've all felt a lacking in the Challenge's prominence around the Battlegroup. Some of us, mostly the commanders, remember a time when squadrons would turn down competitions against a Chal squad because they didn't feel like losing. This is the kind of thing I want to bring back. I know I, along with the CMDRs, want to restore the Challenge to it's rightful place of glory in the EH. And as I look at the roster, and I look at the commanders and the recent successes of this wing, I have to smile. Because I know we're as ready to take this club in storm as we've ever been.

There's a lot of things we're going to start doing, most after the Highlander comp as that's our first chance to show this battlegroup who we are and what we can do. Be prepared for some exciting times in the future. Right now I can't see any boundaries for this ship... and if there are any, well we're going to have one heck of a time finding them :) Extremely glad to be serving you all as COM.
