ISD Grey Wolf Report #12 - 07.27.01

Pilot's Lounge

The Battle for Stoke - Based on experiences from the battle in Imperial Storm II.

Rear Admiral Khadgar was busy at work at his desk processing requests.
"All right... Almost done all this stuff," he muttered.
"Incoming Transmission," the computer suddenly said.
"Hmm, all right, put it on video."
Vice Admiral Ender mBind's picture appeared on the screen.
"Khadgar, would you be able to transfer to the B/CRS Bogart to command the Flaming Arrow Task Force for a battle? The other Task Force Admirals can not be present, and I have other things to attend to. I've already given the orders to our forces, so all you have to do is organize our pilots."
"Woo hoo! Errr... I mean, I'd be honored! I'll get a Shuttle ready and transfer over immediately!"
"Excellent, Ender mBind out."

Khadgar was transported via Shuttle to the B/CRS Bogart, and headed towards the conference room.
In the conference room, Major Dengar leaned back in his chair and said, "I wonder who they've got to command this operation."
Colonel ShadowHawk looked over at Dengar, "Hmm... Hopefully they'll get someone good."
Just then, Khadgar strolled into the room, Dengar shifted his gaze to the door and said, "Oh no, Khadgar! We're doomed!"
Khadgar walked over to a chair at the Conference table and sat down, "All right, here is where it is at, Cyric and Firefox would like us to destroy the A/FRG Theodore orbiting the planet Stoke. Our forces will consist of two B/CRSs and TIE Advanced Squadron Alpha, should be pretty easy."
Colonel Keirdagh "Yacks" Cantor spoke up, "You mean we get to destory the Legal Officer?"
Khadgar chuckled and said, "No, Yacks, it's just a ship name."
"Anyways," Khadgar continued, "We'll need someone to lead the TIE Advanced fighters into combat."
"Wait," Dengar March said, "What will our tactic be?"
Khadgar's expression hardened, he stood up, and suddenly said, "Concentrate all firepower on that main Assault Frigate!"
Dengar March grinned, "You've always wanted to say that, haven't you?"
Khadgar grinned, "Well, um, yes, it was quite nice. Anyways, who will lead the fighters?"
Yacks spoke up again, "I think myself and Kaerner would be good choices."
Kaerner nodded and Khadgar replied, "Okay, sounds good."
ShadowHawk interrupted, "Wait, we might only have room for one more pilot..."
Khadgar pressed a button on a communications panel close to his seat, "How many pilots extra can we put in our TIE Advanced Squadron?"
There was a pause for a few moments and then a voice came through the small speaker implanted in the desk, "Only one, sir."
"Hmmm, how unfortunate, all right, that's all," Khadgar said, pushing another button on the panel.
"Darn," Yacks said, "All right, I don't really have much experience against Capital ships..."
"Same here, I'm good with fighter to fighter combat," Kaerner said.
Khadgar pondered and said, "All right, any volenteers?"
Yacks said, "I think Kaerner would be best for this mission."
Kaerner agreed, "Yes, I'll go."
Khadgar nodded, "All right, it's settled then, report to hangar bay and get a TIE Advanced, and good luck."

The Bulk Cruisers Tallerano and Bogart, plus TIE Advanced Squadron Alpha were deployed.
"All right," Kaerner said, "Ender mBind wants half of our fighters escorting the Cruisers, the rest will attack with me, good luck, pilots."
TIE Advanced Squadron Alpha closed in on the A/FRG Theodore and fired massive amounts of lasers at it.
In responce, the Theodore made a run at the Tallerano, and managed to destroy 9 TIE Advanced fighters which were put on Escort, however the Theodore finally fell.

Back in the Conference room, Khadgar, Dengar and ShadowHawk were discussing the battle.
"Well, did we have any warheads on those fighters?" Khadgar said into the communications panel.
"I'm afraid, not, sir."
"Hmmm... All right."
Moments later, Kaerner re-entered and Khadgar faced him, "So, how did it go?"
"Well, we won, but we lost 9 fighters because they were on Escort."
And there was much rejoicing.

Wing XIII Monastery

The Cardinal approached the Monastery, gold staff in hand.
He was glad to get back after a long day at work.

When he walked in, suddenly, the Monastery was filled with people, who all simultaneously said, "Happy Birthday, Khadgar!"
There was much fun around the Monastery, games, discussions, etc.
Also, Khadgar got numerous presents, among them:
From MAJ Arathar - A new gold staff.
From CPT Wes Janson - A "Multiplayer for Dummies" book.
From CM Marcin Kaczynski and Lieutenant Colonel Mike - A new joystick.
From CPT Raxis Krieger - An excellent plaque to commemorate the event.
From CM DarkC - A very nice rose.
From CPT Hev Randrowan - A nice card, plus some new red robes.
"Thanks so much, everyone, it's too much," the Cardinal finally exclaimed.

Also, I will be getting a new computer, I may have to bee offline for short periods of time in the near future to get set up. Anyways, here is a picture of my current one....

Yes, that's right... My current computer takes up an entire room. :P
The character "Khadgar" is in fact a team of people that work throughout the room. :P
These people include:

Commander - Me. Communications Officer - Handles E-Mail and IRC communications.
Pilot - Flies Single Player and Multiplayer.
Reporting Officer - Writes reports and sends official ship-wide communications to the Communications Officer for sending.
Anyways, it costed way too much to hire all these people, so it is cheaper just to have one terminal with me working at it. :P

That's all for this week, on with...

News

More Birthdays

Okay... More Birthdays... Seems I missed Hev's, which was July 10th. Also, Woobee's is today... And I believe Firefox's was the same day as mine (yesterday)! Happy Birthday, everyone!

Imperial Storm Update

Task Force Doom got a nice wake up call in Imperial Storm this week...
In the Battle for Stoke, Flaming Arrow defeated the A/FRG Theodore with 9 T/As lost.
At Kata, Silver Sabre defeated the L/FRG Cirque with no casualties.

Thanks to everyone who came out!

Promotions, Promotions, Promotions!

Congratulations to MAJ Strahd, the new Wing XV Wing Commander!

Also, CM Hev Randrowan was promoted to CPT and LCM Picard made CM!
Congrats to all!

Psi Squadron Competition

The latest Psi Competition results got sent out from COL Ford Prefect.

Three Squadrons were able to advance:

1: Yod Squadron - 362,874
2: Koph Squadron - 348403
3: Eta Squadron - 335,531
4: Tartarus Squadron - 212,925
5: Psi Squadron - 66,496

Unfortunately Tartarus didn't make it in, however, considering that TIE Fighter is not their main platform, I think they did very well. Good work, Tartarus Squadron!

Commodore's Office

Thanks to everyone for the Birthday stuff!
As usual, activity is great. We've got some new people coming to the ship, all is well. Please keep up recruitment, we still could use more pilots. :)
I'd like to remind everyone that the X-Wing Alliance Week of War is on the Zone right now! The X-Wing vs TIE Fighter one ended... I think I'll be running an incentive next time to go, since the Venegance Competition doesn't run...

That's all this week!
