ISD Grey Wolf Report #16 - 08.24.01

Pilot's Lounge

CrazyR2 learns the "joys" of Windows Me.

CrazyR2 treaded along the Wolf's Head cantina with fresh drinks for the crew of Wing XIII.
He was very happy with the new Windows Me operating system he had been given, until today...
This day he glithced frequently, and often stopped in the middle of the cantina.
He was also unable to run older programs that he had once enjoyed, plus he noticed a lot less free space on his unit.

"What's the hold up with the drinks?" LC Mike asked.
"Hmm, who cares... We must get MAJ Rubby Ducky," CPT Drako replied. "Yes, if we get the Ducky, Crusader Squadron will be guarenteed a victory in ASF:SC III!" LC Mike said.
Crusader Squadron had a generous round of Evil LaughterTM and headed for the Duck.

"Ah, Ducky, it's so good to have you back... Now I'll be able to make Colonel when I'm eligable through your genius," LC Azazel said, smiling.
Suddenly, a flashbang hit the floor and sprayed smoke throughout the room.
"Nooo," Azazel said, "Who are you guys!?"
"We are... Crus-I mean, Odin Squadron, yeah, that is it!"
"I'll get you, Odin!"

"What? We didn't steal the duck!" Raxis Krieger repated.
"Why would we need a Duck anyways?" Brian said, "We have that Brucmack guy."
Azazel looked over to see Brucmack winning another Week of War match, without any sort of equipment except a monitor.
"It's all in the wrist," Brucmack cited.
"I guess we won't get to dress Brucmack up in funny clothing," Andrew muttered.

Azazel tried talking to other Squadron Commanders, but had no luck...
"What, do you think I was born yesterday!?" - CM Gilad Pelleaeon
"A Duck? How old did you say you were?" - CPT Wes Janson
"Erm, no, sorry Azazel..." - CM DarkC
"I'm retired! I have better things to do than look for ducks!" - CPT Hev Randrowan

Azazel sighed... He'd have to search the ship for the duck, or he was doomed...

Cardinal Khadgar's ASF:SC III FAQ

This week I've decided to answer some questions from the Wing regarding ASF:SC III:

Q: What is ASF:SC III?

A: ASF:SC III is a general activity Competition in which you get points for pretty much each form of activity you can think of, see the "News" Section of this report for details.

Q: What sorts of Activities can I do during ASF:SC III that will count for points?

A: Bribery, mostly. Hehe, kidding - You can do the following to get points: Flying Multiplayer, Flying Battles, Flying Free Missions, Creating Battles, Creating Missions, Writing Fictions (not Report Fiction!), Creating Graphics, Recruiting (you must get an MoI for it to count), taking IWATS Courses, earning Medals, gaining FCHG ranks and Combat Ranks, plus earning Squadron Citations.

Q: Okay, what will happen if I don't participate?

A: Well, for those who have legitimate reasons, nothing. But for those who can participate, but out of apathy choose not to... You will be sent to Aurora Prime... In a diplomatic bag. :P

Q: What can I get if I participate?

A: Excellent question. You are eligable for such awards as a Pat on the Back (PB)...! Just kidding... You can get Iron Star medals from VA Cyric, plus nice MSE medals.

Also, each bit of activity you do counts towards more than one reward... If you fly, it counts for ASF:SC III and MSEs, if you create battles and missions, you can get ASF:SC III points, MSE activity and Tactical Office rewards. If you do Fiction or Graphics, you can count it as ASF:SC III activity, MSE activity and submit it to the Newsletter for an LoA. Meaning, that ASF:SC III is a great opportunity to take in awards.

News

ASF:SC III

Pilots, to your TIEs! The third Aggressor Strike Force Supremacy Competition starts on Setpember 1st!
I have sent out many E-Mails regarding this, and I will be sending more. Make sure you read those!

Allow me to quote Vice Admiral Cyric's description of the Competition:

"As many of you know the ASF SC III is on the horizon. For those of you who are new to the ASF and have never participated in this comp, it measures all facets of activity that you can do, assigns them points, and at the end, many medals, many new titles and accolades. This comp will determine the NEW ASF Flagship, currently held by the ISD GreyWolf, a ASF Top Ace, and an ASF Top Squadron.
So your contributions will help you, your squadron, and your ship in the long run, but even more now, since we will be using these points for each ship to determine how each ships TF will be set up for a massive Operation similar to OP:DH to be held after the ASF SC. So, as you can see any and all participation will count towards everything that you fight for in this club :) Officially medals for the comp will be IS-GW, IS-SW, and IS- BW's, but merit medals will also be issued for your participation with the MSE's for the end of September.

The points are as follows for the comp:
Multiplayer:
Participating in MP Comp (must be TC sanctioned WoW's count) 1pt
Gaining LoC 10/LoC
DFC (five wins) 15/pts

FCHG rankings/Combat Ranking 50pts/rank gained

SinglePlayer:
Mission Completion 2 points
Battle Completion 2pts/mission
Mission Creation 5 points
Battle Creation 10 points

Fiction (No, report fiction does not count) 8 points

Graphics 5 points

Recruitment (MoI must be earned) 50 points

Iwats course completion 15 points

Medals earned (not associated with the comp of course) 2 points

Squadron Citations 10pts/citation"

I'd like everyone to have their best activity during the Competition, our Flag Ship title is at stake! Good luck, pilots!

Valkyrie CMDR Retires

Unfortunately CPT Hev Randrowan will be retiring to the Reserves. He will be greatly missed by the Wing, he has served the Corps well, and will always have a place in Wing XIII. In honor of his retirement, I've placed him in the Grey Wolf Hall of Fame.

New Officers in the Grey Wolf Hall of Fame

Congratulations to the following who are now in teh Grey Wolf Hall of Fame:

CM Gilad Pelleaeon - For long-term service and excellent overall activity to the Wing.
CPT Wes Janson - For dedicated and High Activity Service to the Wing.
CPT Raxis Krieger - For his service as Odin CMDR and past service to the Wing.
CM Picard - For long-term service and excellent overall activity to the Wing.

Week of War Competitions

The X-Wing vs TIE Fighter Week of War ended today, and I am very proud of how well Wing XIII did. Special Congratulations goes to LT Brucmack, who was likely one of the top pilots in the overall WoW, and beat out the rest of Wing XIII's score combined.
Well done, everyone!
I Hope to see you out at the XWA WoW, which is on NOW on the Zone. Plus, next month's WoWs for ASF:SC III points. :)

Commodore's Office

I've been very busy this week with ASF:SC III preperations and other work. I've been working a lot on updating the Grey Wolf homepage, specifically the Hall of Fame.
Please be sure to read my ASF:SC III mails, I expect we'll do well in the Competition!

P.S. I will have a Commodore's Protector chosen shortly. It is delayed a bit because of a late MSE, plus concerns raised.

That's all this week! Keep up the good work!
