ISDII Grey Wolf Report # 8 (2001-04-20)

This report was submitted by RA Woobee

COM/RA Woobee reporting in : 21-Apr-2001

G'day pilots and miscellaneous hangers-on,

I have made a minor policy adjustment. My reports shall now appear about 24 hours sooner than you are perhaps accustomed to. Don't panic, everything is going to be Oh Kay. It makes my weekend easier to plan, which I am sure you will all agree is very important. Not only that, I'm going to see if I can't put a bit more content in my reports. I know I run the risk of echoing Our Brucmack, but I suppose that is a risk I can live with.

Competitions are still the big issue for me at the moment. After the amazing lack of feedback to the question I put to you all in my reprt last week, I have decided to go ahead and design a competition that I will enjoy, and inflict it upon you all! >:-) I will announce details during the week. It will be something that everyone can sink their teeth into.

Still on competitions, MAJ Mike has put a very compelling post on the Grey Wolf Message Board concerning a new format for brand new MP competition. I urge everyone to have a look at it and post some comments. This is something I am enthusiastic about. I want to make this happen.

Here's a supr competition for Multiplayer that is happening right NOW! MAJ Death, CMDR of Vanger squadron has asked me to make you all aware of this...
The Operation Supremacy starts tomorrow. The first round will go until the
30th of April. I will paste the first pairings and the rules into the mail.
You can also look them up at:
http://OperationSupremacy.thx.to (some links don't work yet).
So Folks, get flying!!!

1.) Copperhead (3/6) versus Phoenix (5/19) - Minimum Match number: 15
2.) Python (6/10) versus Wasp (4/9) - Minimum Match number: 24
3.) Crusader (6/11) versus Avenger (5/6) - Minimum Match number: 30
4.) Valkyrie (5/10) versus Tartarus (3/6) - Minimum Match number: 15
5.) Cobra (3/6) versus Mantis (4/9) - Minimum Match number: 12
6.) Viper (3/7) versus ASF Commandstaff (4/6) - Minimum Match number: 12
7.) Vortex (3/6) versus Krayt (4/8) - Minimum Match number: 12
8.) Asp (3/7) versus Echo (5/9) - Minimum Match number: 15

Ok, the rules are quite easy. The flying is your own thing. You contact your
opponents, make a time for the match, decide TOGETHER with them WHAT you
fly, WHAT HOSTING type you use (10 mins on one host or 5/5), who reports, and so
on. The scores are to be sent to me before the time for that round ends, my
timezone is the important one in this case! (Central European Time, GMT+1,
EST+6).
Setting up matches: You can fly each opposing pilot up to TWO times. Both
pilots have to agree to the conditions and times!
Match numbers: The numbers are easily counted. As you can see at the
pairings-listings, each squadron has two numbers behind them. These Numbers show the
current members and how many of them should participate. For the minimum
number of matches you multiply the numbers of those who should participate, and
for the maximum you multiply the numbers of overallpilots in the squadrons.
If the minimum requirement of matches in a round is not reached by two
squadrons, there ill be investigations which squad was responsible, and then that
squadron will be disqualified/ will have lost their round.
To determine a winning squadron the flown matches are added up and the squad
with most wins is the winner. If there is a TIE there will be selected two
pilots to fly the match (random by me, unless Avenger is involved, then Cyric
will select two pilots. If the ASF Commandstaff is involved too a third
person will be sekected to choose two pilots).
The competition is a knock-out competition. If you loose your match you're
out of the game.
Awards:1st Squadron: IS-GW for the Overallwinner, IS-SW for second and
third, IS-BW for the rest 2nd to 5th Squadron: IS-SW for best pilot, IS-BW for
second and third Rest: IS-BW for first place

I want you to get cracking on those emails to your opponents right now! I already have. I want that IS-GW!

VA Cyric has a special announcement as well. Here 'tis...

The ASF BGCOM Intimidator has been chosen for this month.  The winner is.........

Lcm Michael of the ISD Greywolf with 32 points
Lcm Schitzo of the ISD Vanguard 2nd place with 12 points
Lt Cody of the ISD Intrepid 3rd place with 1 point.

Congrats to Lcm Michael for a fine performance and to the other two candidates.  Great work.

To the pilots of Tartarus Squadron, it appears we are temporarily having technical difficulties with CM Ayudanter. My apologies for the inconvenience you are currently experiencing. If there are issues that you have sent to CM Ayu to be dealt with (like pilot files, activity reports, fiction or whatever), it would be a good idea to send it to me until I get things sorted out. Thanks for your patience pilots.

Let's see, what else happened this week? Well, Brucmack and I are engrossed in a Rebellion match. I have to say the Rebel Alliance is looking very strong... ;) We shall continue it this week and hopefully the carnage will be catastrophic.

Now for the most motivational quote I have ever heard. I wonder if anyone knows who said it first? "The beatings will continue until morale improves!" I think I have bashed your eyes with enough text for now. It took me ages to write, so you better like it!
