ISDII Challenge Report # 4 (2003-02-01)

This report was submitted by RA Mairin Astoris

Um... oops, I meant to do this about two weeks ago and never got around to it. But I have way more news now, so that works out ok!

First and foremost we now have a new website at http://www.isdchallenge.org/new/index.htm. I am making constant updates to it at the moment, and fiddling with the HTML to make it prettier. It is still under construction and there's a lot still to add, but do feel free to contact me and tell me I missed stuff out if you feel like it!

Secondly, I've started up a COM's Protector competition. Hopefully I'll be running this every month. It's a fairly straightfowards competition, using TIE Free 119 (one of my favourites!); highest weighted average wins the title COM's Protector for the next month, highest individual score wins an IS-SW and second highest wins an IS-BW. I think my top score on this mission was 80k-ish, so if you beat that you also get to claim you outflew the COM. :P

Third, does anyone fancy a fiction competition? I'm a bit busy in the DB with running a major vendetta at the moment, but I should think we could have a nice fictiony type competition after that. I'm also toying with starting up a wargame for Seph to run in his inimitable WC-ish Goodness. Anyone got any preferences? Let me know!

Fourth, and never least, I'd like to welcome the following to the Challenge:
CPT Corran Halcyon
LCM Cyrus
LT Jacen Aylen
CM Zlachmyr
LT Jon Ardan
LT Bozo
AND CPT Mauser

All have joined the Challenge in the last couple of weeks, and are busy swelling our active little family. This influx of members puts our Ship total at FORTY FIVE. This is over TEN members more than our nearest rival in the TC BGs; it also makes us the third largest Ship in the TIE Corps, behind the Intrepid (+10) and the Grey Wolf (+2). This should be an added incentive to get out there and recruit even more people!

Fifthly, I'd like to mention a singular accomplishment of Inferno's. Not only have they managed to get up to a full 12 members, but they've also flown a collective 700+ missions this month alone. This is absolutely phenomenal!

Coming not far behind that total is Thunder with a total of 400 missions for the month, with a total of 8 members. This is also extremely wonderful, and puts the Wing's total mission count for the month well over 1,100 missions counting just those two Squadrons alone! This is absolutely AWESOME work, guys, and I'm so proud of you for finally getting over that magic 1k missions in a month! Let's do it again in February if we can, and even I, your lovely COM, shall pitch in to bring that figure up (oh my God, a flying COM, who would have thought!)!

Also, don't forget that I am still taking submissions for the Challenge Newsletter. I won't be producing one till I have enough submissions, so get them in. There are MEDALS up for grabs!

Oo-er, and I think that's it. See, told you there was news this time!
