Wing X WC Report #3 - December 12, '04
-===Intro===-
A very exciting week (for me at least... :P). Got a number of Wing comps running as we eagerly await ECR results (with baited breath! or not...). Details on them (and some fleet comps) down under, amusingly enough, "Competitions." :P
Reminder to CMDR's: I'd like WSR's by late Friday/early Saturday if possible. Makes writing this easier...a bit. Basically...I usually do my report late Saturday/early Sunday (roughly EST time...basically, when I get off of work. :P), and I'd like other reports by then.
Just before being promoted to GN, Nightmare decided it'd be amusing to resurrect some ATF Spam Thread I started like...a year ago (was either out of boredom or a prank...I can't remember which :P) on the ATF boards. Guess he thought it'd be cool to reboot it on the Wing X MB. I apologize on his behalf for it. :P
Finally, just so you all know, I try to post news on the ISD Challenge site ( http://isdchallenge.tcbg.net/main.php/ ), as well as keeping comps up to date. So if you get bored, feel free to check out the content of that site, and in the process, validate my effort. :P

* All MSE awards have either been processed, or are in the process of being processed. If that makes any sense.
* COL Torres has transferred from Inferno to the RSV's. Best of luck to him in all he does, and we hope to see him again. :P
* Big congrats to CPT Dan Bonini! Got himself both a promotion, and a MoI!
* Gratz to Master on his MoT-gh; CPT Fritz Von Stukart on his ISM; LCM Alexi Stukov on his ISM; and CM Azurin Luna on her ISM.
* I'm in need of a CMDR to get Typhoon back on its feet. Information about the vacant CMDR spot can be found either at http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=4368 or at the Typhoon site ( http://typhoon.tiecorps.net/ ). A FL is needed as well; if you or anyone you know is interested, drop me a line. I'd like at least the CMDR position filled ASAP!

-===Competitions==-
1. Auroraholonet Logo Design Competition. This is an EH-wide graphics competition. Design a banner or logo for a new web hosting service that Ast will be launching for EH members called the Aurora Holonet. 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
2. Webmail skin design competition. This is an EH-wide coding competition. Design a skin for a TIE Corps webmail service or generic EH webmail service. The skinning guide is available here (61k PDF). Examples are available at http://www.mailenable.com/skins/ . 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
3. TIE Corps Christmas Holidays Jingle. This is a TC-wide competition. Create a TC Christmas Holiday Jingle for the fleet using TC names, squadron names, BG names, etc. The funnier the better! 1st places gets a IS-GR, 2nd place gets a IS-SR, 3rd place gets a IS-BR, with submissions going to Cyric. Deadline is the 24th of December.
4. TIE Corps Christmas Holiday Bash. This is a TC-wide competition. Fly both XvT-FREE #41 and XvT-FREE #30 and submit to your superiors as normal. Then send your BSF confirmation email or scores for both missions to Cyric ( jroscoe@comcast.net ). He will add up both scores and award winners from points combined from both. 1st place gets a IS-GW, 2nd place gets a IS-SW, 3rd gets a IS-BW. Deadline is the 24th of December.
5. Wing X Recruitment Frenzy! The TCBG, and more specifically, the Wing, is pretty low on numbers at the moment. Time for a recruitment drive. Whomever can recruit the most amount of new members, be they RSV types or CT's, in the next month (up through Jan. 4) shall earn a IS-SR. IS-BR to the runner-up! 6. ISD Challenge 'Quantity over Quality' Comp! IS-SW to the pilot who can fly the greatest amount of missions during the timeframe (up through Midnight, EST, of Dec. 18), IS-BW to the runner-up.
7. Boss the COM around! An unofficial comp, but if you can get a total of 5 wing members to "sign" a "petition" to get Stuart to do a certain activity (IE, fly 10 battles, create a battle, make up 40 trivia questions, etc.), he'll do it!

'tis all. Hope everyone is enjoying their week (enjoying Hanukkah if it's for you, or anticipating Christmas if that's for you! :P). There are seven comps listed above, and that's not even counting any squadron ones that are running. Let's not fall into post-ECR apathy. :P
In conclusion, heed these wise words by Peter La Fleur: "Too bad Hallmark doesn't make a 'Sorry your dodgeball coach got killed by two tons of irony' card."
