Wing X WC Report #2 - December 5, '04

For anyone who actually noticed that I was gone...I'm back. Had a lot of fun, and reaffirmed the fact that I really suck at FPS' such as Halo 2. Crashing cars in Burnout 3, however...I got the skills. :P
Hope everyone here in the US had a safe and pleasant thanksgiving. Hope everyone else had a happy end-of-November!
As I didn't do a report last week, due to being out of touch with a computer all week, this report will cover stuff from the previous two weeks.
-===Wing News===-
* ECR Graphics results were released last week. Congrats to Azurin for taking first place in the TCBG in that area! Mell says that Fiction results should be released today (Sunday sometime). We currently lead the Relent by 10 points, and the Colossus by 13 points, with Fict and Mission Creation still to be graded. Flagship status, here we come!
* Everyone welcome SL Ozkan Ata, straight from the Daed to Tempest Squadron!
* I'm in need of a CMDR to get Typhoon back on its feet. Information about the vacant CMDR spot can be found either at http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=4368 or at the Typhoon site ( http://typhoon.tiecorps.net/ ). A FL is needed as well; if you or anyone you know is interested, drop me a line.

* Reminder to all that President of the CD, Prefect of the HF, COMM, and IO are open for apps still.
* A FW:TE took place today. Not sure how it went...
* A number of people in the EH have formed a Nation States ( http://www.nationstates.net/ ) thing. NS seems to pop in and out of here every few months or so... :P
* XvT-TC #102 has been released to the general public to fly!
* The new TCHC is Malik of Prae squad.
* There is a new Freeworlds weekly event on Wednesdays.
-===Competitions==-
1. Auroraholonet Logo Design Competition. This is an EH-wide graphics competition. Design a banner or logo for a new web hosting service that Ast will be launching for EH members called the Aurora Holonet. 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
2. Webmail skin design competition. This is an EH-wide coding competition. Design a skin for a TIE Corps webmail service or generic EH webmail service. The skinning guide is available here (61k PDF). Examples are available at http://www.mailenable.com/skins/ . 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
3. ECR! However, all events are closed...so we await the announcement of our victory. :P
4. Wing X Recruitment Frenzy! The TCBG, and more specifically, the Wing, is pretty low on numbers at the moment. Time for a recruitment drive. Whomever can recruit the most amount of new members, be they RSV types or CT's, in the next month (up through Jan. 4) shall earn a IS-SR. IS-BR to the runner-up! I need a 'Phoon CMDR and FL fairly badly, as I really don't want 'Phoon to be shut down (as they have only two members at the moment, albeit active ones). If you know of anyone who'd be interested have them drop an app to Stuart and myself.
