Wing X WC Report #5 - December 26, '04

This week was very slow, though it's not a big surprise for this time of year. I hope everyone is having a fun (and safe) holiday season!
There will be a number of non-flying comps to begin in January. Just some forewarning :P
-===Wing News===-
* Congrats to Stuart on his promo to VA!
* ECR Fiction results have been dished out! Congrats to CPT Dirty Vader on 1st place. I took 2nd place, and CM Karce took 3rd. That's right--Chall sweep. We lead the ECR by 9 points over the Relent, with only Mission Creation to be graded. We should hear something later this week from what I've heard. All fictions can be downloaded/read from the Chall site (link at the bottom).
* Another flying comp is on this week. The few people who aren't on leave this week can do that. Details below.
* Cyric wants each Squadron to choose an official color for your squads. When you get one, email your choice to Stuart (he'd like the HTML color code for it too, if possible).
* If you've been doing activity like SWG or Freeworlds, make sure you let your CMDR's know!

-===Competitions==-
1. Auroraholonet Logo Design Competition. This is an EH-wide graphics competition. Design a banner or logo for a new web hosting service that Ast will be launching for EH members called the Aurora Holonet. 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
2. Webmail skin design competition. This is an EH-wide coding competition. Design a skin for a TIE Corps webmail service or generic EH webmail service. The skinning guide is available here (61k PDF). Examples are available at http://www.mailenable.com/skins/ . 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
3. Wing X Recruitment Frenzy! The TCBG, and more specifically, the Wing, is pretty low on numbers at the moment. Time for a recruitment drive. Whomever can recruit the most amount of new members, be they RSV types or CT's, in the next month (up through Jan. 4) shall earn a IS-SR. IS-BR to the runner-up! 4. ISD Challenge 'Quantity over Quality' Comp (Part 2)! It has been requested that this comp pick up again, as several pilots have nothing to do over the holidays. So here you go! 5. Boss the COM around! An unofficial comp, but if you can get a total of 5 wing members to "sign" a "petition" to get Stuart to do a certain activity (IE, fly 10 battles, create a battle, make up 40 trivia questions, etc.), he'll do it!

Hooray for being invited over for a Christmas dinner with ham being served...and yet, ended up eating leftover prime rib. And then losing 10 bucks in a poker game.
