Wing X WC Report #4 - December 19, '04
-===Intro===-
One of the news items for this week (though if you caught the #EH meeting, or read the TC News page recently, you'll know it) is that Ronin is set to step down as GA. As of December 25th, Astatine will be performing the day-to-day activities of the FC, and starting January 7th, Ast will have full FC authority.
Aside from that and a few other TC-wide announcements, it was a bit of a slow week for the Challenge. The "Fly Lots" comp (not the official name...but you know which one I mean :P) ended, with, roughly, 125 combined missions being flown. Thanks to all, and medals are on their way!
Got a few other comps in mind, some non-flying ones, but they won't be released till January, as most people are busy doing "stuff" over the next week or two. :P
Ernie Hudson's birthday was this week. I'll give you a cookie if you know who he is :P

* Word is that ECR Fiction results to be released today or tomorrow. Cross your fingers. :P
* GN Master won the Flying comp for the week, flying a stunning 99 missions (that is, if my math is right. Not promising anything :P), with LCM Alexi Stukov taking second. Medals are on their way to them! Feel free to keep them coming, and you'll have nice presents at the end of the month! :P
* I'm in need of a CMDR to get Typhoon back on its feet. Information about the vacant CMDR spot can be found either at http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=4368 or at the Typhoon site ( http://typhoon.tiecorps.net/ ). A FL is needed as well; if you or anyone you know is interested, drop me a line. I'd like at least the CMDR position filled ASAP!
* If you're going to be on leave over the holidays, make sure you inform your boss(es) so everyone can be in the know. :P
* If you've been doing activity like SWG or Freeworlds, make sure you let your CMDR's know!

In addition, RA Joey C has been named as the new COMM, FO Cyric was promoted to High Admiral, SO Vladet Xavier was promoted to Vice Admiral, SCO Ender was awarded the Medal of Honor, CA:SCO Den Darkhill was promoted to Fleet Admiral, SOA Tim was awarded a Gold Star, GM Gelton Torr was awarded a Gold Star, SDIR Aseret was awarded a gold star, DP Tuss was awarded a Gold Star, COO Sarin was awarded an Imperial Cross, FA Talren Moreco was awarded a Gold Star, and AD Khadgar was awarded a Gold Star.

1. Auroraholonet Logo Design Competition. This is an EH-wide graphics competition. Design a banner or logo for a new web hosting service that Ast will be launching for EH members called the Aurora Holonet. 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
2. Webmail skin design competition. This is an EH-wide coding competition. Design a skin for a TIE Corps webmail service or generic EH webmail service. The skinning guide is available here (61k PDF). Examples are available at http://www.mailenable.com/skins/ . 1st place gets a IS-PR, 2nd place gets a IS-GR, 3rd place gets a IS-SR. Is open until December 31st of this year, with submissions going to Ast.
3. TIE Corps Christmas Holidays Jingle. This is a TC-wide competition. Create a TC Christmas Holiday Jingle for the fleet using TC names, squadron names, BG names, etc. The funnier the better! 1st places gets a IS-GR, 2nd place gets a IS-SR, 3rd place gets a IS-BR, with submissions going to Cyric. Deadline is the 24th of December.
4. TIE Corps Christmas Holiday Bash. This is a TC-wide competition. Fly both XvT-FREE #41 and XvT-FREE #30 and submit to your superiors as normal. Then send your BSF confirmation email or scores for both missions to Cyric ( jroscoe@comcast.net ). He will add up both scores and award winners from points combined from both. 1st place gets a IS-GW, 2nd place gets a IS-SW, 3rd gets a IS-BW. Deadline is the 24th of December.
5. Wing X Recruitment Frenzy! The TCBG, and more specifically, the Wing, is pretty low on numbers at the moment. Time for a recruitment drive. Whomever can recruit the most amount of new members, be they RSV types or CT's, in the next month (up through Jan. 4) shall earn a IS-SR. IS-BR to the runner-up! 6. Boss the COM around! An unofficial comp, but if you can get a total of 5 wing members to "sign" a "petition" to get Stuart to do a certain activity (IE, fly 10 battles, create a battle, make up 40 trivia questions, etc.), he'll do it!

As you've noticed, stuff is slowing down a bit for the month. Things should pick up after New Years.
