WING XIII REPORT 42

Well this report was going to follow the TAC approval of the pending high
scores, but we all know that was being overly hopeful.

1} Should have a new member coming soon! I also asked another pilot to
consider coming back - we can regain our status as the largest ship in the
fleet soon!
Update : Please welcome Major Keiran (not to be confused with Captain Keiran Laserlight) to Vortex Squadron.

2} Exams are evil, so I'll be busy for the next two weeks.

3} JTL is probably out, so whenever you see the likes of Vlad, Sarin and
Girth on IRC, the server is down.

4} There's a lot of contentious debate about Freeworlds and the EH. Save
yourself some hassle and ignore it. FYI, we're back to neutral with the
Commerce Guild (but most of us are hostile to Phantom :P). We do, however,
get to shoot at the Privateer Fleet, as they have declared us hostile.

5} Certain Commanders have promised to return to normal reporting schedules,
so pester them if they don't.

6} Stele Pelleaeon (Gilad's long lost brother? :P) is the new SOVCOM, as
Proton has retired. I've been in the TIE Corps for over two years and Proton
was SOVCOM for all of that, which speaks volumes for his dedication if not
necessarily his social life. As long as you don't hear anything from Stele,
we can assume that the Sov is proceeding along nicely. Or at least self
destructing quietly.

7} EH Sydney Convention Two was held last weekend. One major difference with
the first one was that it involved more than two people. (N.B. The original
EH Sydney Convention was held at Joey's house and consisted soley of burnt
pizza and games. Not a triumph of mankind.) COL Jon Doyle of Psi Squadron
has been backpacking around the world and was in Sydney, so the Dynamic Soup
Duo (messrs Leek and Onion) met up with him at Town Hall. Problem was that
JD had brought the weather with him, bloody Pom.

JD was shown the highlights of Sydney, experienced our national cuisine, and
got a look at some of our traditional products. For a slightly less
impressive version of the day : we saw the coathanger (Harbour Bridge), the
thing with several pointy triangles (Opera House), ate a pie and chips, and
looked at touristy type 'Australian products' (boomerangs, koala/kangaroo
toys). Most of them had 'Made in China' or 'Made in Taiwan' and had a
guarantee that lasted until the shop door.

8} Wing Reports are 15% more cynical and humourous at 11PM. They are also
