- WING NEWS -
Hello everyone!
I hope you had a great Christmas day and I hope you liked the card I sent over the e-group, in case you didn't get that mail click HERE (and remember you were supposed to receive it the 25th :p). By the way, this is a special report because it's the last Wing XIV Report of the 2003! New year, new layout and probably I will introduce new features too.

Now, returning to Wing news I wish to congratulate with the new Asp Squadron Commander, CM Arid Foxtrot. Arid has proven to be a good Flight Leader in Krayt and he has passed Squadron Management course with a high rating so it has been an obvious choice for me and Frodo. I'm sure Asp pilots will give a warm welcome to their new commander and I can't wait to see Asp Squadron back to full activity. Also, I want to congratulate with LCM Fallien Skull on his well deserved promotion to the rank of Commander. I hope you enjoyed the Christmas gifts, now it's time to pay drinks! ;-)

The three Wing-wide competitions are over and winners are MAJ CrimsonFury and MAJ Justin for the Ship Shapes competition and December trivia, CPT Tvan'Oris and MAJ Justin for the WC's Own banner gfx contest. Medals have been requested and they should arrive as soon as the OPS notice the recommendations, in the meanwhile enjoy a free beer from the Wing Commander. Crimmy got one more IS-BW from the Krayt Bombardier competition and I finally received my medals for Beer Cup, three more IS-GWs, yay!

Flying activity in the Wing continues to be quite good and BSF notifications are flooding my mailbox (the kind of "spam" I love to see :p). During the past week LT Big Poppa K and LCM Hunterwolf distinguished themselves for having completed 8 battles, the WC's Commendation of the week goes to them! For his good activity, LCM Hunterwolf has been also promoted to Flight Leader, congratulations!

Of course, congratulations to Diamondback squadron on reaching the amazing mark of 360 squadron citations! I think this is probably the highest Citations count a TC squadron ever had! I'm looking forward to see a "400 club" to open soon :-)

You might have noticed that most of the thread on our forum are now temporary locked. This was an unwanted-but-necessary measure against some annoying spam coming from officers outside of our ship but I want to remember that every single member of this ship is still free to post on the Wing XIV forum. Moreover, I have created an IMPORTANT POLL about future competitions, please take the 10 seconds necessary to read the question and answer! Comments are optional but always well welcomed.

Give Mell a Job

End Date: 12/31/2003
Medals to be Awarded: IS-GR for winning submission

Details: EH Personnel are asked to write a (serious) Job Description of something that they think that the Imperial Sovereign Protector can do to help the fleet as a whole. The winning description earns the creator an Iron Star - Gold Ribbon!!! (or SG Equivilent). The Competition closes on New Years Eve so that the new job may begin from 2004. Please send all entries to AD Mell Kerrigan.

 The COM needs a ship

End Date: 12/27/2003
Medals to be awarded:  IS-SR for top submissions, IS-BR for the runner up

Details: The pilots of the ISD-II Intrepid are to design a ship for the Commodore. They have to name it, and supply a GFX of it, they can play with color, shape, they can invent a ship if they want, modify an existant ship, anything goes! Send submittions to COM/VA Frodo March.
