Pilots of Wing I:

Another week has come and gone. Today was the end of the Sovereign
Readiness Competition, for which Wing I submitted 17 pilot files.
While this is not the level of activity that I would like to see, it
is better than it could be.

You may have noticed, if you looked at the Wing I roster at
http://www.tiecorps.org/rosters/view.asp?wing=1 recently, that the
position of Alpha CMDR is still open. I have put in a recommendation
for the new Alpha CMDR, and am just waiting on the Flight Office to
make it happen. Until then, if you're in Alpha please continue to send
your pilot files to me.

I have heard wind of a competition between Epsilon and Lambda
Squadrons. I don't know the details yet, but I look forward to the
results. Both squadrons are looking like they have quite a bit of
potential these days.

It's been very lonely on the wing IRC channel lately. In fact, it is
very rare to see anybody in there who is actually from Wing I. We are
located on the Undernet at #Wing_I, and I would love to see you folks
there more often. Drop by and say hello if you get a chance!

Speaking of communication, the mailing list is still down. Even if I
have to find a way to Portland and set it up myself this weekend, it
will be up by next week. I promise.

I heard a rumor that Epsilon has challenged Lambda to a squadron
competition. More details as I get them from the CMDRs ;)

All pilots are invited to design a home page for the SSSD Sovereign to
replace the one previously hosted by GN Wolly. Required elements:
Navigation scheme, HTML design for Sovereign home page and the
following additional pages: News, Ship Data, War Room (competitions),
Cantina (gateway to message board, IRC information, etc.), Wings,
Commodore's Office, Art Gallery, Fiction Compendium.

Winning entry may be used as the new SSSD Sovereign home page.
Optional elements: Main logo, link banner, other graphics. Some
graphics may be used as the new elements of the Sov page and in a new
art gallery.

First place: Iron Star-Gold Ribbon
Second place: Iron Star-Silver Ribbon
Third place: Iron Star-Bronze Ribbon
