General Information


Recruiting Comp ends in 2 days, and it looks like no one is going to be a winner. L

We have a pilot inbound from Wing V, kinda funny since we’re about to hand them a loss in the near future. :P CM Kettch, currently serving in Sadhe Squadron, has requested to join Cobra Squadron! My my, how those Sadhe pilots seem to keep showing up here on the ISD Intrepid. ;)

CMDR’s, if you have any pilots that report they are not receiving emails from the Wing XIV egroup, report their names and email addresses to me immediately! I have gone over the entire membership list for the egroup and from what I can tell everyone is listed. However, that does not mean that someone may not have changed their email addy and neglected to inform their Chain-of-Command, or that their own email server may be causing the problem through a bad setting or something. In any case, I’m unable to research the problems unless I know exactly who is having these issues. I want to also remind the CMDR’s that it is also your responsibility to ensure that your pilots receive these Weekly Wing Reports. So might be a good idea to forward these reports to your pilots to ensure they do get them. :P

There have been a number of people suddenly asking recently if there is going to be another ASF Supremacy Comp. The answer is “YES”, but obviously not anytime soon. :P The ASF-SC’s run about once a year, or something equitable, in order to determine which ISD will be the new Flagship of the ASF. In other words, what good would it do to run an SC every three months? Quite frankly we’d see a LOT of burned out pilots and a total lack of interest in the ASF because everyone would think the ASF Flag Officers were slave drivers. In early 2003 you can expect to see an announcement from AD Cyric regarding a new SC. In the meantime we can just sit back and enjoy serving on the newest Flagship of the ASF!! J

An old subject, but one that requires repeating once again. All FM’s and FL’s are required to report in weekly to their respective CMDR’s. This is not only a TC requirement, but also one required within Wing XIV. A FL, who shall remain nameless, questioned why pilots who are active should have to report in when the CMDR’s ATR should clearly show they’ve been active. The answer is quite simple: The CMDR isn’t a mind reader, and the only way he’s going to know if pilots are working on new battles, flying in upcoming MP events, etc. is if you inform him. Yes, it is great that all pilots that currently aren’t on leave are showing activity, but your CMDR needs to know on a regular basis what’s going on so that he is aware of these facts. Communication is a two-way street and by not keeping that two-way communication open with your CMDR you could very well miss providing him/her with a vital piece of information. Besides, with all the email floating around about absolute nonsense, it is clear that everyone has at least a minute or two each week they can spare to send in a quick status report to their CMDR. I think that pretty much wipes out the excuses. :P

I’ve recently been informed that the XO has apparently fixed the BSF system so that zipped pilot files may now be submitted. I tried out a couple and it is indeed working again! So CMDR’s you’ll be happy to know that it is no longer necessary to unzip the pilot files before submitting them! Yay!! J

We’re seeing more participation for the Wing V vs. Wing XIV Comp, but there are still some pilots that are not on leave that have not yet participated. You know who you are, so I shouldn’t have to come looking for you in your bunk. Remember, this comp ends on 8/7/02, so not much time remaining.

I’m giving warning now that during August I will be very busy with my RL job. So you can expect some minor delays in responses to emails and BSF’s. But I will get everything done as quickly as possible. Xbox has a lot for us to do in August in preparation for our annual meeting in San Diego, CA in early September. And yes, this does mean drinks with umbrellas while sitting on the beach. Bill sure knows how to treat us great! J

All pilots are now required to CC: the Wing Commander when they notify their CMDR that they are going on leave.

Wing Competitions


· Wing V vs. Wing XIV Competition! That’s right ladies and gents, we are about to take on Wing V, the former Wing of your WC and COM! Essentially the details are very simple; fly XvT-TC #38, and XWA-TC #29 in the SP events. You are permitted to fly in both platforms. The Top winner in each platform will be awarded the IS-SW! The second place finisher in each Wing will each be awarded an IS-BW! We will also be running a MP segment, in which the Top Ace pilot who wins the most LoC’s during the comp period will be awarded an IS-SW! The competition will run from 7/10/02 – 8/7/02! CMDR’s will submit and track each pilot’s results and then submit a final report to me by 8/8/02!
· Wing XIV Recruiting Competition! The pilot who brings in the most new recruits to Wing XIV during the competition period will be awarded an IS-SR! · LC Ekim Yellek has officially released his resignation letter this week. VA Leeson and AD Cyric say that they have a new replacement in mind already, so don’t send in any applications!
· Work continues on the development of a new Imperial Storm featuring the ISD’s and Avenger Squadron of the ASF! The ISD’s will each encompass their very own Taskforce, while Avenger will act as a Pirate Force. More information on this as the details are finalized and preparations are made. I am looking for someone skilled in tactics to be my A-TAC during this competition. Anyone interested contact me and be sure to give me some details of what you have in mind!
