Wing X Report #2 (06.January.02)

NEWS:

Back to Work!
Following a lovely long period of ship-wide leave it's back to work for all you pilots out there. I expect to see lots of flying going on in the next few weeks, especially with TIE Golf (sounds like fun, bet I could beat you guys :P ), and the BattleGroups competition coming up!

Thunder Run-on Completion Comp
I'm still waiting for authorisation on this from Mr TO, but in the meantime, y'all might as well get started. The competition is to write a concluding post for the Thunder run-on which you can find on their message board at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/view.asp?b=68&v=1&s=0 Entries should be in .doc or .txt format ONLY and should be sent to myself (somnia_vacua@yahoo.com) and CMDR/LC Beef (beefment@aol.com) for judging. I believe the winning post will be added to the Thunder message board for everyone's reading pleasure! Medals will be available, but I'm still waiting for confirmation, like I said, so I'll notify you of those as soon as I can. :)

Reminder about mission skipping - From TAC/FA Striker
Skipping a mission is only tolerated in case of a fatal bug, which is extremely rare these days. If the procedure stated in the cheating policy is not followed, the BSF is simply cancelled without any notification (because the database doesn't support it yet). Actually, skipping a mission for any reason may be forbidden in a near future, if people keep ignoring the procedures.

Unknown Commands on IRC - From SO/FA Stalker5
We have been seeing a lot of people using unknown commands and scripts on IRC channels recently, some of which can be malicious to your IRC Client. These scripts work primarily on human operators running the scripts out of curiosity and infect the victims IRC Client. I would like to advise all members of the Emperor's Hammer that it is usually a very bad idea to run any script you do not know exactly what it does from the code as it can do damage to your client and also if malicious may well earn you a ban and HCI trial.
