Colonel Ford Prefect bringing it down for the Wing II-siiiiiide! Dig the jig, k?
-Wing News-
- First and most importantly, after viewing Rush Hour II, Roselyn Sanchez (aka the U.S. customs chick :P) has been selected as the model for Ford's personal assistant. Ford's geneticists inform him that the first prototype should be finished within the week.

- Announcing the grooviest thing to hit Wing II since Menudo...W2: The Arena! The Arena is a monthly intra-wing competition that combines both individual pilot strength and squadron honor for a vicious gladiatorial melee! In the Arena, at the beginning of the month, all squadrons are given a battle or F-TIE to fly. All pilots will be given two weeks to fly the mission(s), and the CMDR will report the highest laserless scorer - the gladiator - in their squad to Ford. The gladiators will then uphold their squadron's honor in a melee against each other. After a week's respite, the top gladiators will be given another mission or battle to fly, and the highest laserless scorer will be announced. This gladiator's squadron will be proclaimed Champions of the Arena, and the pilot himself given an Iron Star - Silver Wings in tribute for his courage. The first Arena battle will take place this month...check the Orders section for details!
- Many congratulations to Sigma Squadron, who have been proclaimed by the Imperial Postal Service as the senders of the most packages of Danish Butter Cookies, Flaming Dr. Pepper, Ewok BBQ and nose-hair trimmers to the Wing Commander's office, thereby garnering them the honor of WC's Own for the month of July! A big w00t to the lads of Sigma, who, in August, disposed of foes Mu and Thunder Squadrons, as well as kept up great intra-squad communication and held the standard for general squadron activity within the wing, and, were such statistics available, probably the Fleet as well. Goooo Sigma!
- The Wing II Pilot League is making it's second run! CM Algaron brings back the popular wing-wide pilot competition for a second season, with a few proposed changes:
1) The reduction in the competition length from 12 to 10 weeks?
2) The inclusion of a knockout competition running alongside the main league
system? You would still fly the same missions, but for designated weeks your
score for the week will also be put up against a fellow W2PL pilot with the
high scorer advancing to the next round?
3) Assuming proposal 2 was accepted would you prefer a seeding system to
operate or an entirely random draw to take place (I could do this in
airlock54 for extra excitement)?
4) Our esteemed WC Colonel Frodo has encouraged us to look into ways to
recruit new pilots. Therefore I propose that as well as having the Squeaker
Pack team of Wing II veterans we also invite promising Daedalus cadets to
participate within their own team. This gives the opportunity for them to
get involved with the Wing and I would hope encourage them to join as full
members during or after the Season.
5) Medals to be awarded for the top 3 in each division rather than just the
winner?
6) Division assignments - given that there have been a number of pilot
departures from the Wing I propose the following structure for Season II.
(Playoffs will involve a single mission of my choosing). If you disagree
with the formula let me know.

Automatic: Drazzic, Artyis, Carl Lost, Roger Duncan, Tod, Tempest
Promoted: John Doe, Regis, Algaron
Playoff: Ford vs. Astarosta - winner to Div 1, loser to Div 2

Automatic: Mickk, Stele, Koriel
Relegated: Esmael, Shakur (still to confirm participation)
Promoted: Cahir, Gambit
Playoff1: Ford vs. Astarosta
Playoff2: Reb vs. Akira - winner to Div 2, loser into Playoff 3
Playoff3: Open to all participating pilots - top scores fill remaining
unclaimed places in Div 2

- No sooner had the recruitment clarion call been issued than Wing II was promptly swarmed with four new pilots! Give a big welcome out to new guys Maverick in Psi, Slyer in Theta, and Min in Sin! Also, a hearty welcome to returning Psi and Sin veteran CPT Mordred Pendragon, who makes his way back to his old bunk in Sin...we've still got your bunny suit measurements, Mord ;P
As for the new guys, colon removal, mandatory blood-alcohol level check (to make sure you're at least at 98) and fitting for pink bunny PJs begins immediately! First stop: The doc's office... >:P
