*COL ARENA PLAYOFFS!! We had some fierce competition this past week, but here are the results:

So, the playoffs look like this:

There was a tie for third, but I gave it to RAF since he had won more challenges than Wap. The FTIE for all of the seeds to fly is #65 (and no, I haven't flown it before :P). All tfrs will be sent to me (except for mine and Niv's. Ours will go to Devin McCloud). Pilots will have until Tuesday at 2359 EST to submit their tfrs to me (or DM). The Colossus Arena will still be open for business, so if anyone would like to challenge, go right ahead. Challenges cannot be issued against anyone in the playoffs, though.

*For the rest of you, I have something else...RATS EXTERMINATION 3!! This one is a little different: no teams, just individuals and squadrons competing against one another. Here is the comp info from the TO page:

This will be the third installment of the Rats Extermination. Rebels are rats, and so, we must do our part to rid the universe of them!! The wing will fly as much as possible for the entire week. Each FCHG pt will count as 1 rat exterminated. The winner will be the pilot who kills the most rats at the end of the week (most FCHG pts earned). Pilots can fly any battle on the battle board, fly in multi-player events, anything to earn FCHG pts. Squadrons will also fight against one another, with the top squadron the one with most pts earned total.

Twice during the competition, I will announce a special battle or free mission to fly. Everyone will have 24 hours to fly it and submit it to me directly. The pilot with the highest score will win.

Awards:
30 battles flown: CoB (if not already awarded)
Special Battle winner: 1 ISM (IS-CR)
Third place at the end of the week: 1 ISM (IS-CR)
Second place: 1 ISM (IS-CR)
First place: 1 PC (IS-BR)
Winning Squadron: 1 PC for the CMDR, ISMs (or IS-NRs) for the pilots
A BS for EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE flying may be awarded by the COM at his discretion. I may also award ISMs to pilot who impress me with tfrs (around 15-20 per day).
(Iron Stars may be substituted for some awards. they are listed in parentheses) No pilot may be awarded more than 2 ISMs (or 2 IS-CRs) during the entire competition. If this happens, the runner-up will receive the award.

Remember to send your tfrs to your CMDR (cc'ing me). CMDRs, i ask that you process all tfrs immediately! Those who are in the Col Arena playoffs are more than welcome to join in this flying festival :)

SQUADRON UPDATES:
Pi: CM Owen Nivarian rebounded well after that MSE mix up (no, I won't let you forget that :) and is back leading his squad effectively. A new egroups list has been set up for the squadron (pisquad@egroups.com I believe) to facilitate communication.

Omicron: With CPT Devin McCloud in the medlab (I hope Nic wasn't too shot-happy ;), LCM Anthony Starr had the reins and did quite well. The squadron maintained its standing in the wing as the largest, going even for the week (lost one LCM, gained a SL).

Eta: Eta was hit hard by the AWOL check, losing a SL and a long time member, leaving them with 4. Yet those four represent the best of the squadron and more than make up for their numbers with their activity. I know that they will rebuild quickly as they have done in the past... Once some people return ;)

--> I want to see a tidal wave of BSFs pass by my desk this week. Four BSFs is simply embarrassing (I can get 4 in an afternoon). There are plenty of chances to fly: COL Playoffs, Rats Extermination III, BGAPL Squadron Title, squadron BoWs. And remember, there are still a bunch of MP events which can net you some FCHG pts (and medals :).
