"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities
of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

Fleet Commander's Honour Guard

"Commander Talons, report to hangar bay 6. Commander Talons, report to hangar bay 6." CM Talons grabbed his gear and flight helmet. As he headed out the door, he glanced back at his quarters and sighed. "It is going to be a very long mission. Deep recon patrol and riot control."

Mission #1
I was sent in to recon everything. A dozen or so containers with a
platform to inspect. As soon as I arrived, my orders were changed to destroy everything. I scanned my mission requirements and found that this was my secondary missions. Identification was still a priority. I decided to do both. I set out towards the first of the containers and as I did so, I noticed that CRV Scouter was under attack. I checked my requirements again and it was not on my list of needs, so I left it to its own devices. I avoided and dodged lasers from the platform and made my inspection run on each container group in turn, destroying them before continuing on to the next. I made a close inspection pass on the PLT somewhere in the middle of it and saw the Scouter jump out after being captured. Poor bastards. As soon as
I had each of the containers ID'd and destroyed, I jumped the hell out of there.

CM Talons felt so alone in the sentient ship. With it so automated, he could hardly handle the silence. He decided to keep himself busy by reading in the briefing lounge.

Mission #2:
In an XG-1 Starwing, I was unknowingly with two other flight members. The damn computer neglected to give me this information. I will have to report this oversite as soon as I get back home. Our orders were to disable the platforms for capture. Additionally, we would have the Infiltrator Wing out here with us and so we had to be careful about who we were actually shooting at. I made repeated runs on the platforms with ions blazing. I switched to standard lasers only when my ions were nearly depleted. Once both PLT's were
disabled, I turned my attention towards the X- and Y-wings. I made careful note of any fighters bearing Imperials in the cargo indications. I left them alone (I think I may have blasted one of them all to hell though). Soon I jumped for the Stalwart.

CM Talons shook his head after reviewing his recorder. If he had known that he had two other wing mates, he would have used them to his advantage. "It would have made it one hell of a lot easier to take down the platforms.

Mission #3:
ID run with a sat kill? Not too simple as it seems. Add in an
assassination and you have one hell of a mission. I moved to identify the 2 TRN's once they arrived. I found the CEO on the second one and promptly blew it to peices. I saw the escape pod shoot out and I nearly ran it down in my effort to relieve it of its integrity. I then evaded the retaliation groups as I flew weaving to each satelite and destroyed them. I over shot one of them and had to circle back before I went on. I then headed for the newly arrived Stalwart and used it to give assistance in killing the enemy fighters.

Mission #4:
Oh blessed Order of Kerenski! I get to fly a T/I! Yeah! Kill an INT? Ehhhhh. Defend Mothership? Ehhhhh. Both at the same time? Yeah right! Not in an original T/I. I chose to defend. I also had heavy rockets for the finishing touches on the INT if I had time. I did notice my wingmen this time. I got myself into some serious dogfighting and had to call for help from my flight. I hunted everything I could and ended up with my instruments fried. It is hard to accurately track the enemy without radar scopes. I had to watch where the Stalwart was firing to get any kind of actual bearing.
Finally I decided to drop my rockets into the dying INT at the last second. The INT died before my rockets hit. I then limped home.

CM Talons looked at the badly hit T/I and shook his head in disgust. He should have never tried to dive into the cloud of fighters in the unshielded craft. At least the armour saved his ass from destrruction. His crash when he docked ruined more of the hull than he first thought. Too bad for him.

Mission #5:
A lousy little retrieval mission. It seems that my T/I could not be repaired in time for this mission so I was again back in the XG-1. All I had to do was dock with each of the tugs and get the data they had. Noone said anything about the minefield out there with them. I did not have time to play sweeper with them because of the nearby enemy force that could jump in at any time. I estimated araound 6 to 10 minutes before they arrived. I went to each tug in turn and downloaded the information. After each one, Z-95's jumped in
and I disabled or avoided them in turn and when I completed the final
download, I heard that they were about to arrive and so I left immediately. It was then that I noticed something funny.

CM Talons Pryde revied his flight recorder several times. Everytime, the tugs could not be identified. He checked his own fighter's computer storage and found it erased. "Damn! Lousy computer telling me what I can and cannot have? I will call for a Trial of Possesion for the information if I have to!"

Mission #6: (I did this mission twice -- the first time I failed and the second called for reinforcements).
Mines, mines, and more mines! I hunted the mines vigorously and wished that my wingmen would do something other than watch me. I called for reinforcements and when they arrived, they helped destroy the mines that my wingmates seemed incapable of doing. I hunted everything that came into the area and trashed mine after mine. Soon the two capital ships arrived and I fought off the fighters as quickly as I could before the Stalwart jumped out. I then entered the Interdictor's hangar.

********** End of report

Commander Talons returned to his own office and threw down his pack. "I need a break from this heavy crap." He lay back on his bunk and stared at the cieling listening to the beeping of the computer transmitting his recorders to the WC. He soon fell to sleep...
