Competitions
A. The Wing I vs Wing II competition has begun!
Fly TC-TIE 165 and send the pilot file to me. A further aspect of this competition is to write a
fiction story about our inter-wing rivalry. Contact Major Mike for further details.
Participation in the Flight Portion is going well, with 9 pilot files submitted, and two awaited
approval. So that’s 11 out of 35 for a 31.4% participation. Keep up the good work!!
B. The Wing Commander vs the Wing comp is going strong as well. You choose the free
mission. The comp has been approved by the training office, so all of you that defeat me will
win an IS-BW! Last week there were three challenges, but this week, only one.
The current standings are:

I have flown TF-200 vs CM Ard Royber with the results pending.
C. Pending Free Mission comp vs Hope Wing of the Rebel Squadrons.
We’re awaiting rewrite of the mission to reflect Wing I instead of Wing VI.
D. VA Proton has announced two ship competitions:
1 - a recruitment competition
2 - SSSD Sovereign Cantina Drinking Song Competition
E. I fear that there is some disruption in the IS III flow of action.
Hopefully things will be on track. In the meantime, will those that participated in the various
combats contact me (with proof of participation...such as forwarded emails)??

1. Weekly Tidbits
Please remember that the TIE Corps is a “family” source of fun and adventure and don’t post
any “colorful” adjectives, verbs or nouns to our Message Boards or mailing list.
If you don’t remember what I mean by a “colorful” (colourful for the English), try out the term
you are unsure of on your mother or grandmother, and if she washes your mouth out with soap or
tans your behind, then it’s a colorful term.

This week is one that I will long remember. I received all of the reports, except for Lambda, but
even in that case, I was informed that the report might be delayed.

B. Communications
1 - VA Proton has called for a ship wide AWOL check. If you still want to play, contact your
commander. This ends this week!!
2 - As you all know, I have just recently discovered, my firm has decided not to pay for hotel
rooms between work sessions, so I will be out of contact or in only intermittent contact, every
other week, for 4 or more days. However, I will always be able to contact you EVERY Monday
and Tuesday, unless I have to go camp while working.
I have just purchased a small container transport (heh heh a travel trailer), and with a small but
pricey modification, I will have satellite cable and internet starting sometime next month, so I
will then not only be able to maintain internet, but will have a super fast connection.

I’ve got an open IM policy. If you see me online, you can chat with me.
I’m at grvsmith for AIM, grvsmith@hotmail for MSM, Frideger2001 for Yahoo Messenger, and
I do have ICQ, but rarely use, and will “”“”re re re”“” download mIRC and ask for my password
again (I hate computer crashes....).
At this time I have no set wing meeting and do not know of set squadron meetings on IRC.
4. SOVEREIGN NEWS/TC/EH News.
-- Speaking of league-type comps, a revival of the Sovereign Squadron League is under
discussion. I'm interested in flags' ideas on how we can field league play for TIE and XWA
pilots -- should we just have two leagues? Etc. Let me know what you think.
-- FO/FA Priyum Patel has named VA Toran Dan his new FOA. Congrats to TD.
-- Shipwide AWOL check in progress. Pilots, report in to your CMDRs. WCs, I assume you are
gathering this data to deliver to me by the deadline (May 31).
5. WING I STANDING ORDERS.
A. Communications
i. All members are required to maintain contact with their assigned unit in the TIE Corps with at
least ONE email per month. (This is paraphrased from the TIE Corps Rules and Regulations).
ii. All official communications opening with the term
ID/signature line require a response. This is mandatory on a one link up manner. FL respond to
CMDR/FL, CMDR respond to WC, etc.
iii. The Wing I egroup mailing list is an official resource for orders and news of the wing.
However, until this order is rescinded it is also to be used for fun and games. Those that have
problem with the amount of mail that this generates are encouraged to switch their mailing
preference to either daily digest or read on the web.
(DO NOT USE THE egroup TO RESPOND TO OFFICIAL MAIL, REPLY TO THE SENDER!)
iiii. All members of the wing are encouraged (not required) to get AIM, Yahoo Messenger,
MSM, ICQ or mIRC. I have all of these and shall show up now and then on mIRC, but
unfortunately my RL job entails that I shall not be able to make meetings except on a biweekly
basis.
B. Flight Duties
i. At this time, pilots are encouraged to participate in all open competitions and also to do at
least one independent TIE Free Mission a month. ((Again, this is not required.))
C. Reporting Duties.
i. Squadron Commanders are required to submit weekly reports no later than Sunday morning at
11:59am Eastern Standard Time.
ii. Squadron Commanders are required to submit Monthly Squadron Evaluations no later than
the last day of each calendar month.
