Hello pilots and welcome to my first report as WC of Wing XIX. By now you should have heard im here and many thanks to those that have sent their welcomes and congratulations. It has been an ok week as far as activity goes, plenty of BSFs coming in but all from the same people, lets see some more people flying.

TC News

TCCOM's OWN is back!
I will be restarting the TCCOM's Own award starting next month
For those of you who don't know, the TCCOM's own is a prestigeous award given to the best overall Wing in the TC.
In the mean time I have created a Competition for a new banner. Details can be seen on the TO's competition page. The comp ID is 1066.

Mid-point of Imperial Storm IV
Yes, we have reached the mid-point, turn 15 of 30. So far all teams have played rather cautions, with only one small skirmish (a Corvette on the Sovereign side was pounced on by an entire Battlegroup!). The last few days have seen lots of sightings of enemies, so I expect some battles real soon. Keep looking for more details as they come.

Old battles
After long discussion with Fleet Commander, we have agreed to place old .zips on one of the mirrors. They are all located at: http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/. All people who have EHBL problems can download them now but. This mirror is going offline at 1st January 2004, so after that time you will only have .ehm files and you WILL HAVE TO use EHBL. You have 3.5 months to solve any EHBL problems you encounter. Mail TAC, SCO, CA:SCO and we will help you.

So. You have .zips back, make EHBL working on your computers, and .zips are going offline on January 1st.


Wing News

New WC – that’s me :-)

An e-mail group has been started for the wing. Im not using it yet, but after next week it will be used for internal mails. Reports are still sent to the ATF e-mail group though.

Im looking for a volunteer to run a recruitment team for the wing. Preferably they should be an experienced recruiter and be able to organise a small team to increase the wing’s size.

Im also looking for a Wing-XO. This will be someone who is in charge of running the e-mail group and other things and they should have ops in #atf if they don’t already. In addition they will be acting WC when im on leave. Im not asking for apps yet but will be in the near future so watch out.

Imperial Storm IV is on. We had our first engagement where our entire battlegroup killed a little corvette. Yay! Anyway be ready to fly for that when the moment comes.


Competitions

BGCOM’s Judgement is on. There are sections for every different platform and graphics and fictions so make sure you participate in at least one section (preferably all of them)

Two competitions to celebrate my becoming WC.

First is a flying competition. Fly XWA-TC 20 for an IS-SW by 1st November. If you havnt flown it already then fly it and send it to your CMDRs as normal so I receive the BSF. If you have already flown, send in the file to me or forward the BSF form.

The second competition is a trivia one. Prize for this will be IS-SR. You answer 10 questions as quickly as you can send them to me. The first person to hand in all 10 questions correct will win. If you get some wrong I will tell you how many you have wrong and send them back to you so you have another shot. If noone gets all 10 correct in the time (by 1st again) then the highest score is the winner, with the possibility of a Tie breaker question.

Final Thought

Ive got a great feeling about the set up here and I think we can do good work. Stay active and enter all the competitions you can to make this a good wing. I hopefully am going to set up a comp with another wing soon. Let you know when that comes about.
