Wing One Report #1

News

Silencers, I've been running around like a headless Veknat for the last week, preparing for what is going to be the most decisive three weeks in this Wing's history. According to my AWOL responses thus far, we're going to have 18 active pilots left in the Wing on the 17th of February. Flight Activity is pretty sub-par as a wing unit, and our competition participation is well below where it should be. This is where we are right now. It is where we have been for sometime. It just hasn't been readily apparent to the outside observer.

The Fightback

However, the first steps have already been taken as members of our Wing step up and meet the struggle head on. Commanders Serin Jansj and Firzam Coldsteel have taken the reins as Beta and Epsilon Commanders. Their first reports are in, and I'm impressed. Great Work.

I've also seen flight activity from Firzam, Serin, J'Lek, Gyssler and Trooper, which is great to see. As you'll find out later in this report, a few medals have been awarded in recognition of past achievements. The slate is now clean.

Everything you do as an Imperial Officer from this day forward will be acknowledged, respected and rewarded. This is the new Wing One. Ronin help everyone else :-P

My Activity

This isn't a common section in Wing Reports, but I believe should be. Accountability is an important part of what I intend to bring to this position. I trust you enough to keep you fully informed about what I'm doing, as it could well prompt new suggestions and courses of action. It's also important to see that I'm working just as hard as everyone else.
;-P

Promotions and Medals

CM Serin Jansj - Promoted to CM

Reason: Over the six months he's been with Beta, Serin has quickly established himself as a responsible and technically competent officer. After the resignation of Beta's previous Commander, Serin acquitted himself well as my eyes and ears in Beta - and impressed me with his understanding of the people in his Squadron.

In addition, Serin has created a Squadron Website which is without peer on the Sovereign.

Serin will make a phenomenal CMDR and is to be one of the cornerstones in turning our Wing around. He's motivated, knows the regulations, (100% SM/3 course) is technically skilled and possesses a knowledge of his people that an 'imported' CMDR cannot match.

CM Firzam Coldsteel - Promoted to CM

Reason: Firzam is the heart of this wing, morale wise. His activity and attitude are an inspiration to his wing-mates, let alone his squadmates, and his technical ability is rather impressive (SM/3 95%)

Firzam has also been an acting CMDR in the past, so he knows the ropes.

Firzam is the second pillar in this new wing structure. He has true leadership potential, a big action - little talk attitude and has all of the hallmarks of an excellent Commander.

LT James Zirus - Imperial Service Medal

Reason: In his first full month as an Epsilonian, Lieutenant James Zirus has more than proven his mettle as a pilot and officer.

He has flown nine battles and taken two IWATS courses this month, and has conducted himself in a fashion worthy of this award. I look forward to seeing what this pilot can accomplish in the future.

LT Valdimore Cozar - Iron Star Silver Ribbon

Reason: Winner of the 'Epsilon v Sigma - The Home Front' Competition. Nice picture, keep up the effort!

LT Valdimore Cozar - Iron Star Bronze Ribbon

Reason: Creator of the spunky new Epsilon patch now in use. Great work!

Summary

If you haven't responded to the AWOL check by the 17th of Feb, well - you probably won't have much use for the next report :-P

This is the start of something new, and it's something I hope you all enjoy. You can expect at least one new CMDR to be appointed over the next week, with the possibility of another based on the results of the AWOL check. One thing is for sure - things are charging around here. It's up to us to see that it changes for the better.

Yours in Service,
