(As submitted by A-WC/CMDR/COL Manitsas/Inferno/Wing X/ISD Challenge)

ISD Challenge / Wing X News

(1) Inferno, Thunder, and Cyclone have all submitted scores for FREE-TIE #133
for the Sovereign Squadron League 2000 Pre-Qualifying Round of the Finals.
Wolly is tabulating the scores for these plus the other nine squadrons who
are vying for eight chances to face off against the top eight squadrons of
the SSL2K. The Quarter finals are due to start on November 26 (Tuesday).

Inferno Squadron - 772,176 (9/11 entries)
Thunder Squadron - 232,556 (3/8 entries)
Cyclone Squadron - 496,005 (5/6 entries)

Wing X Total - 1,500,737 (17/25 entries)
Top Gun: CMDR/CPT Brandon/Cyclone/Wing X (114,395)

(2) Supreme Squadron Series
The scores for the first two phases place Inferno and Thunder tied for first
place with a score of 13, with Ranger right behind them with 12 points. LC
Ace Pilot is still counting the phase 3 graphics entries and determining
points for the quality scores. Phase four will be coming soon!

(3) WC returns from leave, a happy man
Welcome back Darklord! The Wing has been so good this week, I think they all
should get some ice cream. COL Kessler has worked out a deal with me: I'll
let him out of sickbay's detox, in exchange for his offering to divert last
month's shipment of Ewok / Wookiee Hair Swirl Sherbert to our good buddies on
the Relentless, while we liberate their Cookies & Cream.

(4) Ship-wide search for a new ISD Challenge Ace
With the Challenge-Ace Title now vacant due to Xyrryc's ascension. This means
we will be having a ship-wide competition on the ISD Challenge, a
battle-royal! How is this going to work? Well, like the Electoral College
... no, don't boo and throw stuff! Everyone in a squad will send a pilot
file to their Squadron Commander, the CMDR giving his file to me. The highest
scorer in the Squadron will be the winner for that squad. Each of the
Challenge's six squad champs will then duke it out among each other later on.

So on the Challenge, by next Wednesday (11/22/00) you will fly the first
round using good old Free Mission 105, Blowing Crap Up... a classic.
Wednesday the scores will be added, Squadron High Scorers decided, then we'll
move on next week. Many of you have already flown this mission for one of
the SSL Combat Runs!

(5) Tempest CMDR resigns ... Long live the new Tempest CMDR!
Tempest CMDR, CPT Vuffi Raa submitted his resignation letter on November 15
due to real life conditions. The A-CMDR is now LCM Viresse Kheeta
(Kheeta@isdchallenge.org). Applications have been taken and are currently
under consideration by COL Darklord. Please email, Manitsas, Darklord, and
Corran Force with your apps. A new Tempest CMDR will be announced soon.

(6) Typhoon CMDR/COL Callista returns from leave
CMDR/COL Callista was on leave as of Thursday, returning today. She again
went to Cologne to try and find sponsors for the EH meeting at the Jedi
Convention 2001... CPT Ahkliat (methran@cs.com) served with honor as
Typhoon's A-CMDR during Callista's leave.

(7) Cyclone Squadron has a new uniform patch
CPT Brandon of Cyclone has announced a winner in their patch comp:
Acting-WC/CMDR/DOC/COL Manitsas of Inferno Squadron. There is both a male
and female version of the patch. I just LOVE doing graphics!

(8) Typhoon stomps out Alpha
Results are in for Typhoon's competition against Alpha squadron. Typhoon
sent in a very impressive 100% participation entry, but Alpha rolled over and
died with a single submission, and a weighted average of 2000.

(9) Tornado Supremacy Tour
Tornado racks up another win on their victory tour: Tornado defeated Thunder,
54,763 (11/12 submissions) to 31,362. CM Xyrryc again is top gun with a
score of 67,243 on FREE-TIE 106. Last week, Tornado also took down Omicron,
75,015 to 12,464. Next up, Tornado takes on the sweetheart of Wing X, CMDR
Callista and the Phooners! They will fly FREE-TIE 104, due November 26.

(10) Cyclone Vs. Eta: CPT Brandon is having his trusty squadron fly FREE TIE
136 for their competition against Eta Squadron

(11) VA Corran Force's Profile Poll has been completed. The pilots have
spoken: 9 to 8 against including profiles on the Challenge domain. Corran
Force will still have profiles for the pilots of the Challenge. However,
they will not be listed. He may list them at a later time.
