STRYKER'S STORY
The YT-2400 Stryker's Pride touched down in the main hangar of the Imperial Star Destroyer Vanguard, on manual control of course. Jer always thought that autopilot was for weenies. The commander of Hornet Squadron had just gotten back from a long stint on Aurora Prime, where he had completed his Dark Jedi training. Despite being a little weary, Jer beamed a bit as his shiny new lightsaber dangled from the belt of his Tie Corps dress uniform. It was something he coveted ever since he saw his first squadron commander, Daniel Goad, wearing one. Jer decided to go for a quick drink in the Tiger's Den before turning in for the night.
As Jer opened the doors he was startled by a collective "Surprise!!" from all of the other pilots on the Vanguard. Jer's XO, Captain Grimlock came up to him and said "Happy Anniversary!" Jer had completely forgotten. Glancing at his chrono, he now realized it was one year to the day since he, then a Major, returned from the Tie Corps reserves to retake command of what was left of Hornet Squadron. He had a goal back then of shaping the most active, cohesive band of pilots in the wing. Looking around him, he could see that he certainly had accomplished that goal. Jer raised the glass that Commander Carcharoth had handed him, and the party continued throughout the night.
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S BRIEFING
- That's right! A big thank you to all of you who have put up with my nagging for the past year. Hmm, I'll have to make some sort of competition for this. For a blast from the past, check this out. Hey, I'm going to the same airshow again this weekend!
- Huge news this week.....we have a new pilot! Sub-Lieutenant Marick Winter completed his Daedalus training in blazingly fast record time, and has been fortunate enough to be transferred here. He has already flown one battle and received his promotion to Lieutenant. A fine pilot indeed! To the one or two of you who have not welcomed him to the squadron yet, make sure you do.
- Don't forget Free Worlds is back! Go fly and make enemies!
- Don't forget the run-on, too....it could use a fresh jolt.
- Grimlock and I have been working on a site dedicated to the history of the squadron. We hope to have it up by tomorrow.
- The Combat Operations Office has put up a new ladder site for multiplayer. Be sure to register today so you can submit matches. There are seven ladders going on that we are eligible to participate in, all ending this weekend. Try to get a match or two in if you can.
