It’s December, which means holidays for most of us…

First off … Khadgar stepped down from BGCOM of the ASF, we’re really going to miss you khad… Luckily for us a new BGCOM has already been named… grats to VA Gilad (ex mutt COM) who is now our new…. “boss”

There’s been a few promotions in the ASF recently, here’s a little list of what happened:

Yes…. You read that correctly… khad, in a drunken retirement rage promoted me to GN… so this means many things… mainly that Prae is now part of a GN sandwich (look at the rosters) but also that drinks are on me until the end of the year (at least) so come and hang in #avenger_Squadron and let’s Party!!!!!

MSE awards for the month of November have been submitted (on the 10th I believe), some of you should expect to see some nice new HTML in you’re inboxes soon.

The Avenger Squadron Ladder at http://www.minos.net/~ssy/ladder/ladder.php/22 has been quite successful with over 50 matches flown and 20 different participants. We were even awarded extra LoCs for all those that won matches in the Ladder (big thanks to the COO). AES Ladder is still open until the 31st of December 04.

NOW, I DO NOT want ANYONE to report matches on the AES Ladder from now until the 20th of December. Why you might ask? Well because of this event:
1 Year COO Celebration Ladder!

Friday 17 December will mark my 1 year point as Combat Operations Officer. To celebrate this event I will be hosting a MP ladder all weekend at http://www.minos.net/~ssy/ladder/ladder.php/55. Pilots have the opportunity to fly XWA, XVT, and FW in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or skirmishes. All pilots who participate in this weekend ladder will receive bonus awards (its a secret) for their participation. On top of the bonus awards, pilots will receive LoCs for each win. DFCs will go out for the most wins, most matches, and highest ladder score. I highly encourage all pilots to fly as the rewards will be worth the effort.

So, the 1 Year COO Celebration Ladder will take priority over the AES ladder since there are loads of awards including 3 DFCs and it only lasts 4 more days. This weekend comp will get a lot more publicity, which is good for our recruitment effort and our image in general but I must warn you all, the Tau boys have made it known that they will probably show up for this ladder. Since Tau will probably participate it would be fun to have more Avengers take part in this Ladder. Remember, this ladder starts now, so fly, fly, fly! SavageAz and I already have 1 match in each. This is you’re chance to get one of those elusive DFCs since most win’s, most points or most games played will get you a DFC. So, each time you fly, take a Screen Shot (Alt-O), go to http://www.minos.net/~ssy/ladder/ladder.php/55 and submit you’re match (do not submit it for 24/7 LoC, AFAIK you can’t with this ladder but I’ll get back to you on this). Speaking of Ladders, ace brought up the Idea that we should have another AES ladder right after the current AES ladder ends. I agree with him! Now this next ladder will last only during the month of January (so it may or may not be at the same time as SC). For now I only plan on making it for XvT and XWA but if the opportunity arises I will add JTL to the list. This ladder will have the addition of challenges, that is, ANYONE in the fleet can challenge you for a match (either by e-mail, IRC or some other means) after being challenged you arrange the match, fly it and report it for the ladder AND 24/7 LoC. Once again, only matches involving members of Avenger Squadron will count. In addition, I will try to get the BGCOM to award IS-GWs, SWs and BWs for this ladder. If anyone has a problem/idea/suggestion with/for this new comp then please let me know ASAP.

XWA Single Elimination Tournament
Ace needs to beat up one last person and he will win and be declared CHAMPION of XWA!!! (one DFC and maybe more)!

Results for the Run-of-the-Mill competition have come in, AES took home 5 of the 18 total medals to be won, not a bad showing. MAJ SavageAz won 2 IS-SWs and one IS-BW for placing in all three flying divisions (XWA, XvT & TIE) and I myself placed a 2nd and a 3rd for the image captions part of the comp (so IS-SR & BR).

FINAL THOUGHTS
We’ve had a good start to the month of December, something along the lines an Elite Squadron’s MP activity, good work, I hope that we will be able to keep it up.
