Thunder Weekly Squadron Report #79

INTRO
Yes, the rumors are true. This is my last report as Thunder commander. I will be retiring to the Reserves for a few months due to my evil job and general lack of time. I will still be online every now and then, so feel free to AIM or email me. Azurin will be your new commander and has been promoted to the rank of CM. Congratulations to her! I know she will do a great job leading this great squadron. Thanks all for making Thunder so beefy.

COMPETITIONS AND ORDERS

-Exercise Cantina Run #???
Yes, the ECR is back. For those who don't know, this multi-part competition is held annually to determine the Battle Group flagship. Clearly, that should be the Challenge, so let's get this done. Participation is key. Quantitiy over Quality can win, especially in the fiction and graphics categories. So even if your drawings are stick people done in Paint, send it in and support your ship! And don't forget medals are up for grabs.

PART I - FLYING
This section is completed. Most of you participated. Good work.

PART II - GRAPHICS
This section is also completed.

Part III - Fiction
Write a funny story about our cantina or how we captured the theives who stole our drinks. We need a mere 500 words by December 3rd.

Part IV - Mission Creation
This one is a group effort. Stuart and Bubba are already setting this up. If you wish to help out, email one of them for an assignment.

This competition's deadline has also passed. We await the results from Fritz.

-Caption Competition
It seems that this competition isn't running anymore. Or at least I can't find any new links. o.O

-Star Wars Galaxies
This still isn't being done! While playing SWG is counted as activity, I would like to see more "tangible" forms of activity. So, when submitting "Played SWG" as a weekly activity, please also include a short summary of what sorts of adventures your SWG character had that week. It can be a short paragraph or you can get creative and turn it into a polished story, but I want to see something to show off when considering activity medals. ;)

-Battleboard
Thanks to Beef we all remember the Battleboard. It is an excellent chart that shows us which battles which pilots should fly in order to earn us a citation. A squadron is awarded a citation for each battle that half of its members have flown. So if you suddenly feel a hankering for some flying (which you should), pop over to this link and fly something that will earn us another citation! -Recruitment
Thunder isn’t full and neither is the wing or the club. Please, contact any people you know that are interested in Star Wars and tell them of our great club. This also means setting a good example and generally being a gentleman or lady when on message boards, game servers, or anywhere else where you are representing the EH. Behaving badly in public smears our image and deters recruits.
