Beta Squadron Weekly Report, #27
September 18, 2004

Note: the reason why this report is from a different email than normal is because it's by Serin Jansj, standing in for Conker Blackwood, who is indisposed (read: sick) at the moment. So, enjoy this week's report in the interrim.

NEWS

o| The squadron patch is in development, as is the Beta website.

o| Just another "friendly" reminder to include the mission type and number when sending Commander Conker a pilot file, also please LABEL the pilot file with the battle type and number. I cannot stress how frustrating it is to have a TIE Battle 1 and an XWA Battle 1 and not be able to tell which it which

o| There is a squadron versus squadron competition imminent, so stay tuned.

o| Conker is starting a "New Deal" for those who lack the time or have technical problems that might keep them form flying. See Conker for something else you can do insted of flying.

o| Commander Conker having a bad weekend. Send him jokes. The one with the best jokes gets to assist Conker in torturing the one with the worst jokes.

COMPETITIONS
===========

o| Assignment and Survivors posted at EH forum
http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=3039&start=45

From Mike:
Survivor: Hutt Guano Binn
That's right, I'm taking a cue from the popularity of Reality TV and
starting one of my own. Thw wing will be divided into three equal teams.
Each week there will be a new activity to do, each having their own goal.
FOr instance, one week might be to play a mission for the best overall
laserless score in the wing, as a group. THe group that comes in last
will have to vote to drop a player. THis will continue, and I will
combine groups as needed until I get down to a select few, which I will
then turn up the heat on. At the end, one person will be voted the
winner, and the survivor of the HGBs. And there's one twist to the game.
You can earn bonus points for your team by writing about what goes on
during the week inside your camp. THe action, the survival, the intrigue
of living in the HGB with your group. I think this could be a really fun
competition to run, but I'll need your help in promoting it. Also, after
this is done, towards Christmas, I'll be running a round-robin competition
to find the greatest squad. I know that several of you have been
wondering which squad really is the best. This will give you the answer.

o| Sovereign Battle of the Month, Sept 04 (9/8/04 - 10/7/04)
Participants: Sovereign and Omega Pilots.
Medals to be Awarded: IS-GW, IS-SW, IS-BW in each of the three divisions.
Instructions: http://www.ehtiecorps.org/competitions/details.asp?ID=1500.

From Proton's Competiton Details:
The Sovereign Battle of the Month is back! And here are the battle assignments:
TIE-TC Battle 215: Colon Wars
XvT-TC Battle 100: Wing X: The Challenge
XWA-TC Battle 38: Wing XI: Human Behavior
For pilots, it represents a monthly opportunity to win an Iron-Star Gold Wings in TIE, XWA and-or XvT. For squadrons and wings, it represents a chance to claim the mantle of SovCOM's Own. The competition is open to all Sovereign and Omega Squadron pilots. SQUADRON COMMANDERS are responsible for compiling their pilots' results; WING COMMANDERS are responsible for compiling these results from the squadrons and sending me a report, with pilot files zipped attached.
The comp will run from Sept. 8 to Oct. 7. Good luck to all pilots!

AND NOW... THE JOKE OF THE WEEK!
================================

Two men, sentenced to die in the electric chair on the same day were led down to the room in which they would meet their maker. The priest had given the last rites, the formal speech had been given by the warden, and a final prayer had been said among the participants. The Warden, turning to the first man, solemnly asked, "Son, do you have a last request?" To which the man replied, "Yes sir, I do. I love dance music. Could you please play The Macarena for me one last time?"

"Certainly," replied the warden. He turned to the other man and asked, "Well, what about you, son? What is your final request?"

"Please," said the condemned man, "kill me first."

==============
HAVE A NICE WEEK.

"Wherever you go, there you are."

Sincerely,
Serin Jansj, writing for:
