Epsilon Weekly Report #30

Bad News

There is brilliant news, and there is bad news. I'll start with the bad.

No-one submitted me a pilot file, or completed an IWATS this week. I have decided that the Epsilon Image and name doesn't deserve this sort of discredit, so today marks the debut of 'Chaser Squadron'. It contains one active pilot, which is far less than Epsilon, which contains six.

So this week, pick it up a little - because Chaser Squadron is a joke - but Epsilon is not. One pilot file, or one IWATS, by anyone but me (since I'll be flying anyway) will be enough to get the Epsilon Colours back.

The AWOL check is completed, and several pilots have some explaining to do. I'm not going to name names, because that's not my style. However, they have to contact me, or they will receive the boot, whether I want to give it to them or not.

If you are unable to participate in any form of TC activity for more than a week at a time, you *must* contact me. I don't even need an explanation or something similar, I just need to know that you're alive and interested. Inactivity for extended periods results in an AWOL declaration and a forced transfer to the Reserves. I don't like doing this - but it's a reality of the job I cannot avoid.

Good News

However, it's not all bad. In fact, this news is Brilliant. :-)

Two Epsilonians have had their recent achievements acknowledged this week. LT Dano Fado, LT Rez Chaser, congratulations on your promotion to Lieutenant - Commander! The reasons for their promotions are stated below.

LCM Rez Chaser
Reason given for request: Rez has been an integral part of our Sovereign Squadron League success. Not only did he fly a substantial number of missions on all three platforms, but his technical assitance resulted in Epsilon being further up the tables than any 5 man squad had any right to be. Rez was involved in a four month technical tug of war (in excess of thirty hours spent) with former Epsilonite CM Max's machine, a victory which was finally won two days after Max's departure from the squad. Now that Max has returned to the Wing, I know exactly who to thank. Rez simply never gives up.

WC's Note: Rez has been a great pilot, and a great source of technical knowledge as well.

LCM Dano Fado
Reason given for request: Recommendation from CMDR: I request a promotion for Lieutenant Dano Fado to Lieutenant Commander for his brilliant attitude and solid competition participation. Dano has flown in both free flying and the SSL. He is a brilliant example to his peers, and participates without any thought of reward.

Addition from WC: Dano is a solid performer, someone you can count on always. His flying is constant and exemplary, and he's a model to those around him. He is well deserving of a promotion to LCM.

Not bad at all, Aces :-) Congratulations.

In more good news, I've had two pilots volunteer for my SECRET PROJECT. I'm not disclosing any details to anyone outside the squadron - but suffice it to say, the Epsilon report next week should be at *least* twice as good as this one ;-) If any more Epsilonians want to join us, let me know - and i'll let you in :-)

Competitions

NEW COMPETITION COMING SOON!

SURVIVOR: HUTT GUANO BIN

Sounds weird, should be great fun :-)

The entire wing is to be spilt into three equal groups. These groups will be required to complete a different goal each week, and the team which comes last will be required to vote to drop a player!
The implications of this compeition are unlike anything I've ever seen in this organisation and it's definately got me excited. This will be a great way to get to know the Wing and it's members, so keep your eyes open :-)

Imperial Storm V - Coming Soon!

Imperial Storm is the pinnacle of Emperor's Hammer Wargames. The Sovereign has a fantastic record in this competition, and with good reason. This time, each task force (representing an actual fleet in the EH) will do battle across a sector containing over a dozen starsystems to determine, the best Commanders and strategists, the best pilots, and the best SUPPORT group. The Sovereign effort in the last Imperial Storm was forvever been etched into EH history - when the support corps backed our boys in a major battle scoring enough points to almost completely revuventate our battlefleet, outgunning the opposition by 30+ submissions to 2. This competition promises to be no different. This is the heavyweight title, and the Sovereign is going to defend the belt!
