Omega Report # 21 (2004-05-17)

This report was submitted by GN Brian

Omega Squadron members, honored guests,

With the TC DB down, not too much new news...

Squadron News:
- Sov Squadron League Round 5 participation looked excellent! We're keeping participation levels up, which should be very, very good for us... assuming Todbringer flew, we had 100% participation again for TIE. I definitely can't argue with that.

- With the TC DB down, you can access mission files one of two ways, per AD Proton:
http://battles.tiecorps.net/TIETC209.ehm
(by direct file name, change the file name and number as needed)
http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/
(the old ZIP format. You will not be eligible for high scores when using the ZIP files. Not recommended.)

Squadron Orders:
- Sov Squadron League Round 6 is on hold while the TC database is down.

- Participate in the Birth of Wing VII run-on:
http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=2121

- XvT Week or War on battlestats.com, this is ongoing... isn't it? http://combat.tiecorps.net

- Do some of the new IWATS courses! http://to.minos.net

EH-wide News:
- Emperor's Hammer Holonet Awards II Started! Nominations will run until May 28th! http://ehha.stardestroyer.org/

- New Multiplayer competitions.
Night of the Monks, Fridays 3AM-6AM EST
The Wolf's Howl, Saturdays 8PM-11PM EST
Aggressor Night, Sundays 8PM-11PM EST
All held in #EHCOC on IRC, as usual...

- AD Joe is looking for ROA's to help run Celebration III in April 2005. This is a 12 month commitment to help run one of the biggest Star Wars fan events around. E-mail Noon001@aol.com if interested.

Activity Reports:
CMDR/GN Brian - Flew XWA-FREE 108 for Sov Squadron League.

FM/GN Compton - Flew TIE-FREE 213 for Sov Squadron League.

FL/COL Ixion Deathbringer - Flew TIE-FREE 213, XWA-FREE 108 for Sov Squadron League.

FM/LC Yoman - no activity.

FL/MAJ Artyis - Flew TIE-FREE 213, XWA-FREE 108 for Sov Squadron League. Running Sov Squadron League...

FM/COL Todbringer - running Sov Squadron League...

In other news, I saw the movie Troy this weekend. If you come in with low expectations, it's not a bad movie. Remember Star Trek: The Motion Picture? Troy had lots of "stare at their empty faces" shots like ST:TMP did. They could have shortened the movie by about 30 minutes if they had properly edited the movie!
