Omega Report # 10 (2004-03-01)

This report was submitted by GN Brian

Omega Squadron members, honored guests,

Welcome to LC Nurel Turr as A-WC for Wing IV, filling in for Mini Minkus' recent departure.

Squadron News:
- Remember those CoL's? They were finally awarded this week. Congrats again to Todbringer!

- If anyone needs help getting TIE running with the EHBL, please let me know. I've only tried TIE/Windows XP/EHBL, I haven't tried XWA yet...

- Special thanks to Sasquatch for reminding us how important teamwork is (particularly in things other than outdrinking entire Star Destroyers in the cantina...).

Squadron Orders:
- Sovereign Squadron League 2004 ROUND 1 IS COMING THIS WEEK!

ARE YOU READY?

- Imperial Storm V: no news again last week...?

- XvT Week or War on battlestats.com, this is ongoing... isn't it? http://combat.tiecorps.net

EH-wide News:
- Newsletter 101 is up! http://www.ehdb.org/nl/nl101.zip

- Newsletter submissions sought! Send them to the XO at: jpboyce@indigo.net.au

- AD Joe is looking for ROA's to help run Celebration III in April 2005. This is a 14 month commitment to help run one of the biggest Star Wars fan events around. E-mail Noon001@aol.com if interested.

- New Wing XVIII WC: LC Frey Gallandro.

- New missions and battles: TIE-FREE 247, XWA-TC 38.

- New IWATS Course: IBX (Internet Basics). http://to.minos.net/ibx

Activity Reports:
CMDR/COL Brian - completed IWATS courses IBX and AIM, completed TIE-TC 202 (one of the better battles I've flown...) and made Paladin in FCHG.

FM/GN Compton - no activity (Galacrack).

FM/COL Ixion Deathbringer - no activity.

FL/MAJ Manijak - no activity.

FM/LC Yoman - no activity.

FL/LC Brandon - no activity.

FM/LC Todbringer - no activity (running Sov Squadron League...).

FM/MAJ Artyis - no activity.

Life looks better this week, but I expect the silence to end as soon as Squadron League kicks off at the end of the week. I've been practicing, as is noticed by the battle a week I'm trying to do...

(and the battle every other week I seem to actually get done, which is still a lot better than the past...)

Back in the real world, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King swept the Academy Awards. No surprises there, right? Made for a very boring awards ceremony though-- I wouldn't even have bothered to watch, except I was at a "leap year party" in Fullerton and that's what my friend had on the TV.
