I have two or three very important announcements.

NEW PILOTS

I want to welcome two new faces to Beta Squadron. Sub-Lieutenant Arne
Saknussem and Sub-Lieutenant Marek Stelle are joining us as Beta 2-4
and Beta 3-3, respectively. I've had an opportunity to talk with
Arne, and I've been impressed with his enthusiasm for the Corps. I
look forward to speaking with Marek personally as well in the week
ahead.

CMDR APPOINTED

I have been fully appointed as the Squadron Commander, which (among
other things) means that you can now send in your pilot files for
completed battles directly to me.

SP LADDER

This is a reminder that the missions for the first week of the
Sovereign SP Ladder are due by Sunday. Yaks, we did a remarkable job
in the last ladder by just flying what we could. Though we were
fortunate enough to achieve a few high scores, I'm not expecting them,
just your best.

My personal plan is to fly every mission for the ladder that I am able
to fly, and I encourage all of you to make similar efforts to fly what
you can. I would consider heavy participation from our Squadron in
this competition to be a more remarkable thing than a high number of
high scores. Just complete the missions and be sure that you're
scores are positive numbers (yes, your own CMDR actually completed a
XWA mission for the last ladder with a score of -900). Submissions
