SQUADRON NEWS

• A lot of Hornet news this week, so bear with me.  You guys are kicking back into gear now and I'm glad to see it!  We lost two pilots, Dimentex and CyberShadow, last week and we may soon lose a third but we also gained one.  Everyone extend a warm welcome to Lieutenant Kirana Ti!  We need to fill our roster up so I want recruiting to be our #1 priority.  If you would like some information about how to recruit, go here.

• When you get tired of recruiting there are over a dozen competitions to participate in, covering almost every type of activity in the Tie Corps, and most of them have more than one medal that goes with them.  My advice is to pick one compeition that you would like to do the most and focus on it, rather than trying to dabble in all of them, but if you wish to do that, that's ok too!  We have some of the most ambitious pilots in the wing so let's see how many of these comps we can slap our logo on!

• Our squadron website now meets all of the new Internet Office guidelines, and then some, thanks to the newly-promoted Captain Optimus. If you have not been there lately, I suggest you check it out and bookmark it, as now there is actually useful information there!  hornet.squadron.org

• Also don't forget our run-on!  It is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better and have a little fun at the same time. Don't worry if you don't think you are a good writer.  It's really all about interacting with each other.  While you're there why not post something on the Hornet message board and start a discussion with your fellow pilots?

Flight Leader Position Available!!
Due to Real Life activities, Captain Optimus has had to step down from his flight leader position, which means the position of Flight 2 Leader is now open.  As a flight leader you can be promoted in rank all the way up to Captain, and I am only going to allow pilots below that rank to apply for the open position.  Here is how to apply:  No need to send me any emails or essays or anything like that.  Just be active and show leadership, and some time before the end of March I will award the pilot who is in my opinion the most worthy of being a flight leader the position.  Keep in mind that if you are a flight leader you must do at least one flying activity each week to keep your position.  For this reason, if you are offered the position you will be allowed to refuse it if you do not feel you can meet this requirement.  Also if in the unlikely event that I feel nobody in Hornet is worthy of the 2-1 position, I reserve the right to recruit someone from outside the squadron into this spot.
