Weekly Report

Avenger Squadron News

Yes, it's another late report this week. As spring is coming, and life speeds up, I have less time on the weekends now. I shall endeavor to get these out on time from now on.

Pellaeon has left the EH due to RL issues. I will miss his hard work in the TAC office testing all those missions that I get to fly. Good luck in RL, and hope you can come back to play again soon! :D

XvT WoW LoCs and DFC should be awarded soon. It took almost 2 weeks for all disputes to clear, then I sent KK the XWA results instead of XvT. :/ He has correct results today.

I will be going on leave for 10 days starting this Thursday as an adult advisor for our church mission to Mexico. All concerns should be brought to Zoron during that time.

Personnel Transfers:

- Avenger Squadron lost 1 pilot:
Pellaeon has transferred to the reserves due to RL issues.

Medals and Awards:

Azazel receives 10 LoCs, DFC, IS-BW for 3rd in XWA WoW!
MAJ Glorick receives 6 LoCs!
MAJ Snail receives 1 LoC.
Zoron reeceives 1 LoC.
Ace passed BOT and Linux IWATS, 3 LoCs.
Dax Corrin receives 1 LoC.

Current Competitions:

- There are currently several competitions running at the Squadron level, the Battlegroup level, and the Fleet-wide level. Avengers should participate in as many of these as possible.

Fleet-wide Competitions:

#ehcoc MP Events Several Multiplayer Competitions take place weekly in #ehcoc. You can find a schedule of competitions at The Combat Office .
Week of War: These are hosted at BSC and flown on the Zone. Info can be found at Battlestats or on theZone. Current week's competition is the T-Wing Trance for XWA. WoW rules apply with exception of same club members CAN fly each other. Ends this Friday. All Avengers should participate in these!
Soverign Squadron League: The biggest squadron League to date is now on! Dust off your SP skills and send me your pilot files for TIE-Free 215; Free-XWA 75; and Free-XvT 120. These are due by 28 March. I will be on leave, so if you don't get them done before this Thursday like I will, send them to Zoron and he will forward to the appropriate persons. Follows is a message from the Soverign League manager:

Pilots of the Empire,

Let me introduce ourselves. I'm Lieutenant Colonel Todbringer of the elite
Omega Squadron. This tall, grim Officer over there is Major Artyis, Pilot of
the famous Sigma Squadron. And this person here surelly needs no
introduction, as I'm certain all of you already know him - please welcome
the commander of the Jewel of the Fleet, the SSSD Sovereign, our glorious
Admiral Proton!

As we stand here, we'll run probably the biggest competition you
participated ever...

The Sovereign League 2003!

Let me tell you a few words at the beginning of this competition. I've been
here, in the TIE Corps, for four years. During this time, I participated in
countless competitions, including both previous editions of the Sovereign
League (or Squadron League, as it was called in the past). This allows me to
say that I'm quite an experienced Pilot. I used all this experience when
creating Sovereign League 2003 rules. You'll find them attached to this mail
and I hope you'll like them.

A few words on competition itself. MAJ Artyis and I wanted it to be special.
It was not supposed to be "a standard fleet-wide competition". We wanted
something more. To achieve this, a few things were invented: first of all,
you'll notice rather unusual rewards. Not only have you a chance to earn
some medals - in the Sovereign League you can win perhaps something even
more precious: a special and unique title. For you or your Squadron. This's
something you can not win in any other competition! Secondly - this
competition rewards both team and individual efforts. Even if you cannot win
as a Squadron, you can still earn some credit as an individual Pilot.
Thirdly - the rules of the League equal chances between smaller nad bigger
Squadrons (while still leaving bigger ones with a slight advantage), so even
if your Squadron is not at the top of its strength, you can still particiate
and win! Fourthly - we wanted to promote regualrity and I belive this's
reflected by the competition rules.

And now the most important thing - remember, that I and MAJ Artyis are here
for you. This competition was invented to give you, Pilots, a lot of fun.
Should you ever have any questions, mail me or MAJ Artyis without a second
of hesitation! Remeber also, that this competition is run by both of us, but
supervised by AD Proton. He's always got the final word on everything.
However, Admiral is a very busy man, so my advice is not to bother him with
simple rules clarifcation questions. Adress him only when you feel it's
absolutelly necessary!

Now a little apology in advance. Sovereign League 2003 is really big. I mean
it. To let you imagine its size, I can tell you, that in the entire
competition there will be 108 (yes: one hunderet and eight) medals to give,
plus exclusive titles. Heve you ever participated in a competition with more
than a 100 medals? Because of its size, I wanted to apalogy for all delays
and for all that doesn't go soothly. Me and MAJ Artyis will do our best, but
we're only people too...

OK, I belive this's enough talking. Sovereign League 2003 is on! I hope
you'll have a lot of fun thanks to it! That's most important, after all!

Here are mission assignments for Week 1 of Regular Season:

TIE Fighter Division: TIE Free 215 - Minos Cluster, Pi Squadron;

X-Wing Alliance Division: XWA Free 75 - Tarentum on Patrol;

X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Division: XvT Free 120 - XanPatrol.

You'll find the missions attached. Deadline is set to 28th of March.

108 medals, people, even if it is SP, we should get some of that hardware for ourselves. DL the missions for each platform that you own and fly. Now.

Avenger Competitions:

Avenger Iron Star Competitions Each month Avenger Hosts Five Iron Star Competitions. The Competitions consist of: FCHG-The Pilot who gains the most FCHG in a month, CR-The Pilot who gains the most CR in a month, Avenger Ace-The Pilot who earns the most Pilot of the Week awards in a month, Graphics-The pilot who submits the best graphics in a month, Beat The CMDR-The Pilot who beats the CMDR in a head on MP match.
New Flight Names If you can design new flight names, that I like, you will win a Iron Star.

CMDR's Thoughts

Pilot of the week: Guess who? Azazel, of course. With 10 LoCs, a DFC, and in IS-BW for 3rd in XWA WoW, AZ is the man again this week. Congrats!

Lots is going on, so remember, RL comes first. Love those around you, and let them see something besined the back of your head often. :P Fly som "crappy old SP free missions" and lets see if we can't claim some hardware in the Soverign Squadron League. See you guys in a little over a week and a half.. I'll be online Monday thru Wednesday, then we are off to Mexico.
