Omega Report # 0 (2003-04-21)

This report was submitted by COL Sasquatch

Buckle up kids, time for another Omega Squadron report. I hope everyone had a good Easter!

I'm sorry for the delay in this report, but some rather annoying power outages prevented me from sending it sooner.

Squadron News
------------------------

- It was kind of a slow week for the squad, in my opinion. I chalk this up to the fact that we just had a pretty major holiday, and I know that many people in the squad were taking advantage of their time off from work or school. The fleet itself was busy as always, with some new developments in the Dark Brotherhood situation. As always, if you want to stay up-to-date on what is going on, then keep checking your usual news sources -- EH.ORG, EH.NET, not to mention the message boards. And be sure to read the latest Flight Office report for some of the shake-ups that took place in the ATF.

- We officially pressed "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" for our competition with Sigma Squadron ... it has completely restarted, with a new battle being flown. More details in the orders section.

- The EH Oath of Loyalty : http://www.ehnet.org/loyalty/

Signing the loyalty oath has become a pretty hot topic among the upper ranks of the TIE Corps ... most people are either strongly for it or adamantly against it. It's not required that you sign, but each of you should make your own decision. Personally -- yeah, I signed it.

- According to the latest Sov report, Wing III is running a competition to see who can make the funniest Fanta Shokata commercial. Looks like VA Joe started some kind of fad ;-)

- After much debate, Ixion has finally just decided to make our Omega Squadron uniforms according to the current Ops guidelines -- yes, even with the patch on the front. The times, they are a' changin'. Ix still has to work around his hectic RL schedule, but keep your eyes peeled, we should see these in the near future.

- LC Todbringer released the full results of CR#2 of the SSL this week; you can find the full results attached to this report in Excel format. Below is a brief run-down on the all-important TIE Division.

Here's your top ten for CR#2 :

1. Teth...................318,684
2. Omega...............228,281
3. Sigma................208,073
4. Praetorian...........194,418
5. Yod....................163,643
6. Inferno.................92,703
7. Kappa..................74,504
8. Pi........................64,794
9. Sin......................58,997
10. Diamondback.....53,868

And here's the top ten squads overall :

1. Teth....................760,282
2. Omega................620,303
3. Sigma.................596,655
4. Praetorian............504,806
5. Yod.....................454,116
6. Inferno.................325,188
7. Psi......................279,813
8. Kappa.................262,528
9. ASF....................237,885
10. Diamondback.....219,490

So basically, all I have to say to you guys is ... keep up the good work! We're holding a strong second right now, which would be more than enough to get us into the playoffs. Let's try to keep that momentum rolling!

- As an indirect result of the recent DB fiasco, you now have to log in at the TC database in order to be able to download battles and free missions. Just FYI, so you guys won't be surprised by the new system.

- Lastly, there was a good amount of discussion this week about new members. I think we've come up with some pretty good candidates, you can expect more in a future "New Blood" email.

Squadron Orders
-------------------------

- Fly FREE-TIE # 198, "The Intrusion of Light", for CR#3 of the SSL! Your last full day to fly will be April 24th, which is right around the corner. Right now I only have submissions from Brandon and Todbringer, so all you last minute flyers out there should be warming your TIEs! I'm attaching the mission to this report.

- Fly TC-TIE # 114, "Stop the Press!", for our competition with Sigma Squadron. Your deadline is April 27th, so you've got slightly longer for this one than for CR#3. Again, right now I only have submissions from Bran and Tod. The rest of us are going to have to step up and help these two ;-)
And yes, I'm attaching the battle ... what would you do without me?

- Compton has announced that he and his Inquisitor have celebrated their first anniversary! Be sure to drop them a note and say "congratulations"!

Well, I'm hard pressed to think of anything more to type, which is usually a pretty good indication that I should stop. Until next time guys, fly high and watch your six!
