- Big news this week is that our 'grudge match' with Sigma Squadron has begun! LC Todbringer reports that, using pretty much the same scoring system, Omega has more points than Sigma in the first round of the SSL. Here's to hoping that history repeats itself and we can pull out a victory. More below in the orders section.
- The Medal of Instruction has been awarded this week to MAJ Brandon for recruiting SL Yokel to the fleet. Nice work, Brandon! Let me know when he's seasoned enough for an Omega TOD!
- Combat Run # 1 of the Sovereign Squadron League has ended, and here's how we did :
CMDR/COL Sasquatch : 46,579 pts.
FM/GN Compton : 66,660 pts.
FM/LC Ixion Deathbringer : 66,329 pts.

As you can see, we had an excellent turn out for this first round, with 8 out of 9 pilots flying the mission! I'm impressed, and you guys should be proud of such a fine performance. This is what I call "starting out on the right foot". The overall results for CR#1 should be out shortly, I'll let you know as soon as they're released.
- MAJ Brandon, besides having the highest score in CR#1 and receiving the MoI, has also completed two IWATS courses this week; TIE Mission Creation and XvT Tactics. Brandon has had one helluva week. Excellent work, Brandon!
- More high scores this week for CPT Night "Suave" Grue, this time the conquered battles are TC-TIEs # 60 & 61. Keep up the good work, Grue!
- Operation : Outrageous Fortune seems to have taken a brief hiatus; apparently, there were some bugs in the system for ground battles that still needed to be worked out. Stay tuned, Op:OF should be back on track shortly, and the deadlines are never very long once an engagement is announced.

I won't tell you how to answer the questions, but my own insights suggested that a new game for the X-Wing / TIE Fighter series might be the way to go. Also, options to play as the "bad" guys are always a "good" idea. Thanks to COM/AD Proton and LC Shadd for providing the link.

- Fly for our competition with Sigma Squadron! Remember, battle to fly is TC-TIE # 202, "A Wormhole Too Far". Battle is attached to this report to save you the trouble of downloading it. Deadline is April 10th, and all pilot files should be sent to me. Remember, we're going to need to push ourselves if we expect to defeat Sigma -- and if we do it, it's something to be proud of! - Combat Run # 2 of the SSL is now ACTIVE! The mission to fly is FREE-TIE # 216, "Indaro's Little Adventure", which I am also attaching to this report. The deadline for this CR is also April 10th, the same as the deadline for our comp with Sigma. Anyone interested in participating in the XvT or XWA divisions can fly FREE-XvT # 125 and FREE-XWA # 94, respectfully -- but I again must stress that your primary concern is the TIE division. To your fighters, gentlemen!
- Courtesy of the latest edition of Sov News : Looks like there's a Sovereign Trivia Competition going on. I don't know much about it myself, but details can be found at ( http://www.emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=396 ) if anyone is interested.

- I was really impressed by the activity in general this week, but especially by how we pulled together for the first SSL Combat Run. I'm not sure how we'll end up as far as the squadron's rank or score, but I'm already proud of our performance. Everyone, keep up the good work.
