We have had a very, very slow week.
This weeks Ace of the Week goes to…there is not an ace of the Week, there has been nearly no activity.
I would like to see some involvement in the Competition vs. Pe that LCM Corsair implemented.
Lets get back to the activity level we had when I first became CMDR. I gave you all most of November off due to the extreme level of activity we had went through in my 1st 2 months here. I am planning on stepping up the activity level to those levels very soon.

SSSD SOVEREIGN NEWS, 12-16-01

FROM THE SSSD SOVEREIGN SOURCEBOOK

This week, the final in a series of SSSD Sovereign fact sheets by COL Sasquatch of Omega Squadron:

- It is suspected that the Sov's sister ships, if they are still operational, do not possess the power to destroy a planet (Speculation, based on original SSSD superlaser power levels, unmodified).

- The Sov has never had to use its superlaser at full charge for the purpose of destroying a planet ... yet (Speculation, based on the fact that I can find no records of the EH ever destroying a world outright).

- The Emperor's original vision was an entire fleet of SSSDs, with the ESSD Eclipse to lead them (Confirmed)

- Given the wasteful Anti-Empire sentiment of the Mon Mothma administation within the New Republic, we can assume that any of the Sov's sister ships captured by the Rebellion have been either scuttled or destroyed. Any SSSDs still in service are doing so in factions that are not aligned with the EH. For all intents and purposes, the Sov is probably the last of her kind. (Speculation, based on actions of the New Republic in the 'Black Fleet Crisis' books, in which they did not have enough warships because they had been destroying all Imperial ships they found instead of capturing them. Mon Mothma really had this thing against ISDs and SSDs ... also based on the Jedi Academy Source Book, which claims that all SSSDs had been destroyed by the time of the Jedi Academy books written by KJA.)

- Designer of the SSSD is currently unknown. (Confirmed by the fact that no records of the SSSD or ESSD class bother to mention who designed them)

- Lira Wessex designed the ISD and the SSD (Confirmed by various sources)

- Given her involvement in Imperial warship design, and the fact that it would have been chronologically possible, it is reasonable to assume that Lira Wessex either designed the SSSD and ESSD classes or had considerable input into their designs. (Speculation, based on info cited above)

- Given the inclusion of a superlaser into the SSSD and ESSD classes, a weapon that was not originally intended to be equipped on a ship of the line, it becomes even more likely that Bevel Lemelisk would have been included in the SSSD and ESSD projects. Lemelisk was the man who designed the Death Star and the original superlaser (source : "DarkSaber", by KJA). (Speculation, based on the fact that Lemelisk was the Empire's foremost researcher on superlaser technology).

- Even though no designer for the SSSD class is ever mentioned (classified?), we can assume that the SSSD was a Wessex / Lemelisk design (Speculation, based on all the techno-babble listed above ;-)

- The Sov is currently assigned to 'Patrol and Peacekeeping of EH Territories', thanks to the lobbying of former COM/FA Kramer before the Flight Office, the Grand Admiral, and (presumably) the Imperial Senate. The past duty of 'Homeguard of the Aurora System' has been stripped away, in favor of a mission statement more suiting of the most powerful Imperial warship still known to be in operation.

-- LCM Jack Stone's Ultimate Scramble nears its conclusion. Jack also is cooking up another (non-flight this time) comp for January.

-- Mascot Power Battles, fiction and TIE mission design currently running.

-- COL Reaper and I are putting the finishing touches on the Return of the Rat Pack tour of the Sovereign and Omega Squadron. It starts Jan. 1. First round: Rat Pack vs. Wing I CMDRs. Reaper will announce the battle, terms and deadlines, etc., in a couple of weeks.

-- VA_Motti, in the EH IRC meeting Saturday: I believe that the new automated MoC process is completed, so go to the main EH MB and enter your TC PIN # in your MB profile. this will allow your posts to automatically be counted, and you will be automatically rewarded for your posts.

-- VA_Motti, also in the EH IRC meeting: Haven't done much yet about the drug policy getting into the CoC, that's this upcoming week. (COM's note: I think this has to do with a prohibition against drug-use talk in IRC channels)

- Epsilon vs. Pe! Fly XWA-TC 25! Also, Fly TIE-TC 134 on MEDIUM DIFFICULTY! The Competition Started 07 December 2001 and ends 21 December 2001. The Highest Scorer in each Platform receives an Iron Star-Bronze Wings. The Winning Squadron is determined by the Average of the Two Highest Scorers in the Squadrons. It ends this Friday lets get flying!

Key Dates:

Nov. 1st: Competition begins at midnight no matter your time zone.
Every Wednesday after: Progress reports to be handed out 11:59:59
December 31st: Final battles to be received
January 1-4: final scores posted, Wing Champions determined
January 5th, The Final Showdown: The six Wing Champions compete in the ultimate test, it has been decided that if all pilots have XWA, the Showdown will be held in #Airlock54 at 17:00 EST (5:00 PM)

Now the Rules:
1. All battles must be received between the exact times of 00:00:00 November 1st
and 23:59:59 December 31st
2. Wing Champions must respond to the Showdown invitation on January 4th
(seperate from the final scores) or else Wing Runner-Ups will be declared Wing
Champions
3. All pilots should submit at least 4 battles and/or free missions each week
4. Battles previously flown for database may be reflown for the competition.

Regulations:
1. Absolutely no person may use invulnerability or unlimited weapons unless I
rule it nessacery to use them
2. Any battle found using the above violation will not be counted for anything
and will be stricken from the record
3. Wing Champions must participate in the Final Showdown.
