We have had a relatively mild week. I have been busy with RL and CMDR issues.

This weeks Ace of the Week goes to…LCM Corsair. Congrats on your third Ace of the Week. The Ace of the Month for November also goes to LCM Corsair. Your doing great LCM, Keep up the good work.

I have implemented a few “Command” type positions in the Squadron. The Executive Officer has yet to be announced, but Congrats to LCM Corsair on his appointment to Operations Officer. He has already started off with a nice new Competition. Check the COMPS Section.

SSSD SOVEREIGN NEWS, 12-3-01

COM/VA Proton reporting for the SSSD Sovereign, flagship of the Emperor's Hammer
Strike Fleet.

SOVEREIGN NEWS AND NOTES

-- Return of the Rat Pack competition being planned. Starting in January, the
Sov flags will face CMDRs of each wing in six consecutive two-week battles. In
the seventh round, the new Rat Pack will face Omega Squadron. Former SovCOM
Kramer has selected the battles to be flown. I'll be seeking approval of the
competition this week from the Training Office.

-- WC/LC Kalar has started a Wing Commander's Honor Guard for Wing III, sounds
interesting.

-- Star Wars gangsta rap, pointed out by LCM Dierdre Varn. This thing is pretty
funny:

-- COL SickMan has ordered Airlock 21 closed until activity improves
dramatically in Wing V. Hard to fault SickMan, after only three or so pilots
flew in a well-publicized test of honor against Wing VIII >:(

-- Mascot Power Battles, round three, graphics in progress, COL SickMan
officiating.

-- LCM Jack Stone's Ultimate Scramble, an FCHG race that runs into the new year.

FLEET NOTES

-- Design a bad guy competition. HA Astatine reports: There is a new competition
running, "Design a bad guy". Basically the idea is to design an enemy for the
EH. The best will be selected for use in future competitions. For details, go

-- 2,000 missions in the Mission Compendium. FA Striker reports: 327 Battles,
300 Free Missions, for a total of 2,000 missions online... check out the latest
TAC report for the celebrations.

-- Mission-skipping crackdown. See FA Striker's report on the TC news page about
a crackdown under way against unwarranted mission skipping.

-- GA Ronin attended the Emperor's Hammer meeting on IRC on Saturday. He said he
wanted to thank and congratulate the members of the EH for all they have done to
make the club so successful. So, consider
yourselves thanked by the Grand Admiral himself!

-- GA Ronin also noted that the EH is getting a lot more exposure and links on
the Web sites of stars of the Star Wars films, which should help us out in the
long run. It's also all the more reason that we should all be doing recruiting
relentlessly -- get your friends, neighbors and enemies to join today!!

-- The Comfy Chair that FA Kramer used to reward the WC with the most members
has been shipped away to The Warehouse for storage. But it's a shame to leave
the La-Z-WC in there in the dark with nothing to keep it
company but stale scorpion droppings -- I'll have Dude bring it back out of
storage for the first WC to get his wing back up to 45 members. Meantime,
SickMan and Aylius Khan continue on waste-chute polishing detail as long as
their wings remain below 30 pilots. (In other words, come on, all you WCs, get
some recruiting going!! Make your wings *the* places to be!)

- Epsilon vs. Pe! Fly XWA-TC 25! Also, Fly TIE-TC 134 on MEDIUM DIFFICULTY! The Competition Starts 07 December 2001 and ends 21 December 2001. The Highest Scorer in each Platform receives an Iron Star-Bronze Wings. The Winning Squadron is determined by the Average of the Two Highest Scorers in the Squadrons.


- Mascot Power Battles! Complete the trivia sent out by the Wing Commander, if you need a copy let me know.

Key Dates:

Nov. 1st: Competition begins at midnight no matter your time zone.
Every Wednesday after: Progress reports to be handed out 11:59:59
December 31st: Final battles to be received
January 1-4: final scores posted, Wing Champions determined
January 5th, The Final Showdown: The six Wing Champions compete in the ultimate test, it has been decided that if all pilots have XWA, the Showdown will be held in #Airlock54 at 17:00 EST (5:00 PM)

Now the Rules:
1. All battles must be received between the exact times of 00:00:00 November 1st
and 23:59:59 December 31st
2. Wing Champions must respond to the Showdown invitation on January 4th
(seperate from the final scores) or else Wing Runner-Ups will be declared Wing
Champions
3. All pilots should submit at least 4 battles and/or free missions each week
4. Battles previously flown for database may be reflown for the competition.

Regulations:
1. Absolutely no person may use invulnerability or unlimited weapons unless I
rule it nessacery to use them
2. Any battle found using the above violation will not be counted for anything
and will be stricken from the record
3. Wing Champions must participate in the Final Showdown.

With the loss of LCM Zoron, we now have a Flight Leader position open. I am not going to post anything yet, as I am in the process of implementing an XO and OPS for the Squadron. The XO will be my 2nd in Command. The OPS will be the 3rd in Command, and will be responsible for organizing Squadron Comps. The XO will run things when I am away, and keep me in line when he/she thinks I need it. J
