Asp Squadron Commander’s Report 1.19.02

CMDR’s Thoughts:
Well, as everyone knows I took some time and created both Duty and Ceremonial Uniforms for every member of Asp. So I expect there won’t be any excuses for everyone not having one uploaded to your TC Profile, right? :P

Little known Non-EH Facts (and humour :P):
1) The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time television was Fred and Wilma Flintstone. (God bless the cartoons! :P)
2) The Hawaiian alphabet has 12 letters. (Now talk about simplified learning. :P)
3) State with the highest percentage of people who walk to work: Alaska. (Can’t imagine why! :P)
4) Men can read smaller print than women; women can hear better. (Boy isn’t THAT the truth!! :P)

Prelude to Andevia:
The IO is making quite a stir about CMDR’s and higher not pushing hard enough about this EH-wide competition. However, I am also aware that the site was almost impossible to reach until early this morning, so I’m not going to fault anyone in Asp to much for not participating sooner. But, now that the site is up and running I want to encourage everyone to participate in at least one event for Asp Squadron. There are many many events to take part in, so nobody should have any trouble finding something to take part with. The URL for the competition is http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/prelude/ and the events will continue running until 7 March 2002. So there is plenty of time for everyone to participate in some sort of fashion. Be sure and include your subgroup specific ID Line to show which SG you are participating from, this way the IO can ensure the appropriate award is given to the winners. I also insist that any submissions to this competition be CC:’d to me as well so that I can track it as activity. Remember, activity is important for future promotions and medals, so keep me informed. ;)

Asp Squadron TOP ACE Competition:
Since the original battle assigned had some problems, I made the decision back on Monday to change the battle to XvT-TC #19. It is a bug-free battle from what I could tell while flying it, not to mention a small one, only 4 missions long.

Multi-Player Competitions:
Just a reminder to everyone that the TC sponsors a number of MP comps each week where you can win some cool LoC’s, as well as additional points for your FCHG rank! I encourage everyone in Asp to try to take part in at least one comp each week. Show your support for Asp, Wing XIV, and the TC and participate!

Recruiting:
Since no one else has taken the time to recruit, or at least notify me of such efforts, I took it upon myself as CMDR this past week to prove a point. I sent out 11 letters of assistance to CT’s on M/PLT Daedaleus, and received a total of 5 replies, two that have stated they are very interested in joining Asp Squadron when they graduate, and the 3 others expressing their appreciation for offering assistance. Now, if everyone in Asp Squadron were to take about 5 minutes of time like I did and send out some quick emails to a handful of CT’s each week we could be at full strength! Something to think about folks. :P

Battle Citations:
We are still sitting with 11 Battle Citations, but this could be a lot better if everyone took time to fly. So far the only pilot, aside from myself, to help out recent weeks to win Asp more citations has been LT Clark. I hope others will follow his example and help us win some more. If anyone has questions about which battles can be flow to win citations, just visit the ‘Related Areas’ link on the Asp site, and then click on the ‘Asp Battle Citation Board’. It is color coded, and also shows which pilot has flown a particular battle. There are a number of battles that only need one more pilot to fly it in order to win a new citation, so it shouldn’t be that difficult to find some battles to fly and help out your squadron!

EH/TC News and Information:

Ø It's back folks! The Internet Office's online magazine of witty and twisted humor has returned for a second helping! Issue #2, subtitled #include is full of laughs, surprises, and articles that are sure to keep you interested. Thanks to Editor-in-chief Darkfire's marvelous and continued dedication, the Internet Office was able to produce this fantastic production which is guaranteed to have you laughing! Also, for her hard dedication and work on THJ, I am bestowing upon my Command Attaché Darkfire the rank of Vice Admiral, so congrats to her pending FO approval! Here it is, THJ#2, in all its glory: http://www.ehnet.org/thj/
Ø For those of you who are unaware, Project Hawkeye is the first Internet Office Competition ever and promises to be full of surprises and excitement. Heavy work is being put into thorough plot development. Part of this plot requires some voice acting. Now you can help us out and take part in this top-secret IO Project. Details can be found at http://hawkeye.jedijawa.net/hawkeye-voice.html
Ø Following the resignation of MAJ Spencer earlier last week, a new Wing Commander for Wing XIX has been selected: Congratulations to Major Enahropes Entar.
Ø There are currently two positions open in the TIE Corps to applications from the general membership.

The first of these is the position of Wing I WC. Applicants are expected to be able to meet the WC requirements as listed in the Training Manual. In addition, familiarity with both TIE and XWA is required, as well as absolute reliabilty. All applications should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Vice Admiral Proton with Wing I Application in the subject of the email.

The second position is that of Praetorian Commander. Applicants are expected to meet all the usual requirements of the Squadron Commander. Some experience as a Commander is essential. Membership in the Intel Division is not required, but as PraeCMDR, you will be expected to work with them. Remeber that Praetorian is an Elite Squadron, and as such, a high standard will be required from those interested. Applications for this position should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Rear Admiral Jordynn with PraeCMDR Application in the subject of the email. Good luck.

Squadron Commander’s Orders:

Ø All pilots must try to attend the weekly Wing XIV meeting on mIRC channel #wingxiv at 1500 HRS EST.
