Phantom Weekly Report #27
(12.08.01)

Introduction

Thank you to everyone for competing in the COM's Own competition. While we have to wait a couple of days to find the results, hopefully we'll win. It'll be hard though with Ranger's roster down to just 5 pilot who are all very, very good, and Falcon have had some very good entries too. I have faith that we will do ourselves proud.

I haven't got the results of the Flayer competition yet. The CMDR isn't really returning my e-mails. It should get sorted in the near future and the pilots awarded duly. I'm working hard to make sure this competition doesn't go the same way as the Demon competition a month ago.

There is no competition this week. You're getting a break to prepare for the Fleet-wide competition. It will be hard but I can foresee us doing very well in it. But for now just have some fun, as I'm going to be on your back throughout this competition!!!

Squadron News

New pilot

Please welcome SL Bobecc to Phantom Squadron! Just off Daedalus and ready for action, I'm sure Bobecc will be a great edition to our squadron. He'll also soon be a LT now he has completed his INPR. I hope you have a great time with us, Bobecc.

Lot's of medals this month

Due to good MSE's last month, LT Rollins was awarded a PC and LCM Mark was awarded an ISM. If you want a nice medal too next month, I suggest you get very, very active!!!

Fleetwide Competition coming

As I posted before, there is a big competition going to start soon to find the best TIE squadron and the best XvT/XWA squadron. Good knows how they are going to compare the XvT and XWA squadrons, but that's not our concern right now. For now just prepare to get very active in the next few weeks, and learn how to fly fighters without shields (without getting shot down, please!!!).

New EuroLoC time
06:37 - LC Mike [pbmike@go2.pl]
Hello pilots. I come to you to inform about new time of Euroloc. As always, it's on Saturday, but 09:00-12:30 EST (15:00-18:30 GMT).

EH Timeline - Thrawn Trilogy
06:38 - VA Goatham [RGoatham@aol.com]
As you may, or may not, know a competition based around the Emperor's Hammer Timeline which involves the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn is set to start on the 15th of August. This is set to be a huge project with around 120 missions required to get through the story, along with a lot of plot to accommodate for the involvement of all the subgroups of the Emperor's Hammer. Thus we need your help in order to complete this, so if you are any good at making missions, or at writing fiction and wish to help please contact VA Goatham (rgoatham@aol.com), AD Ramos (magedon42@aol.com) and COL Blackbird (dex@cyborrea.cjb.net) for further details on what we would require from you, thank you.

Episode II Title: Attack of the Clones
06:39 - AD Jarak Maldon [jarak@stny.rr.com]
The title for the next installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy will be entitled Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Like most Star Wars titles, this is a very blunt to-the-point title similar in such to Return of the Jedi. The following is taken from the news report posted on starwars.com:

"starwars.com is pleased to announce that Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones is the full title for the next Star Wars film, scheduled for release in 2002. Attack of the Clones joins The Phantom Menace, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as chapter titles in the six-episode Skywalker saga. It harkens back to the sense of pure fun, imagination and excitement that characterized the classic movie serials and pulp space fantasy adventures that inspired the Star Wars saga."

Last round of Mr./Mrs. EH competition
07:15 - SA Kawolski [absurefire@aol.com]
With Mrs. EH chosen already, there's one final round to determine who will be Mr. EH. Go vote at: http://iw.ehonline.org/LO/polls/mr-missEH/

TAC Troubles...
23:09 - AD StarLion [colstarlion@hotmail.com]
"Why isnt the TAC doing ...." The TAC's Network connection is being annoying. All your emails ARE being read, but until my connection is stabilized i will be at a diminished capacity. Needless to say, Network Administration have a nice stack of complaints in their email boxes, and i hope to have this sorted ASAP.

Orders

  • If you want to play multiplayer XWA, then get stuck into Imp Storm II
  • Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also an #ISD_Immortal room. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.
  • Post on the Phantom Message Board more often. It can be found in the Squadron Forums on http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/
  • Recruit!!! If I can do it, ANYONE can!!!
  • Give me some BSFs to do. If there are any missions you haven't flown, then get flying. If you've completed them already, then why not go for the highscores as they may be useful in a future competition.
Activity Reports

CMDR/CPT Werdna Elbee (63):
09/08/01 - Flew FREE-XWA #13 for ship-wide competition (+6)
11/08/01 - Awarded a MoC-boc for 250 posts on MB
12/08/01 - Awarded a MoI

Comments: This week I've mainly trying to get EHVOGUE #3 complete. This month it's all on my shoulders so I haven't got time for much else. I have been re-flying FXWA13 however, been recruited cadets, and had time to do IRC, message boards and all that.

FM/LCM Jari (75):
09/08/01 - Flew TC-TIE #10 (+5)
11/08/01 - Flew TC-XWA #10 (+6)
11/08/01 - Flew TC-XWA #11 (+5)
11/08/01 - Flew TC-XWA #14 (+5)
12/08/01 - Flew TC-XWA #13 (+6)
12/08/01 - Flew FREE-XWA #3 (+1)
Comments: A very good week of flying for Jari. There would be more proof here, but with some highscores I haven't had them confirmed yet. I've also spotted Jari communicating on everything this week.

FM/LT Nekura (57):
11/08/01 - Returned from leave
Comments: N/A

FL/LCM Mark (144):
06/08/01 - Flew FREE-XWA #13 for ship-wide competition (+6)
07/08/01 - On leave until 19th August
11/08/01 - Awarded an ISM for good MSE
Comments: Although he went on leave on Tuesday, he put a lot of work in on Monday to make sure he got a competition entry in before he left.

FM/SL Bobecc (0):
11/08/01 - Joined Phantom Squadron
Comments: N/A

FM/LT Rollins (82):
05/08/01 - Flew TC-XWA #13 (+6)
06/08/01 - Flew FREE-XWA #13 for ship-wide competition (+6)
11/08/01 - Awarded a PC for excellent MSE
Comments: It's been a slow week, but it's because Rollins has been working on some long battles lately. Rollins has also been communicating on every medium too.

FM/LT Marek (69):
08/08/01 - Flew FREE-XWA #13 for ship-wide competition (+6)
11/08/01 - Passed IWATS mIRC/1 (+4)
04/08/01 - Flew TC-TIE #10 (+5)
11/08/01 – Went on leave until 24th August

Comments: A very pleasing week from Marek, working very hard in the competition, flying other missions and having time to do an IWATS course. He's also another pilot who has been posting on everything lately.

FM/LCM Deimos (50):
On semi-leave
No recordable activity (because he got high scores in his BSFs)
Comments: Deimos has flown a lot this week, and got a lot of high scores too. He's been e-mailing me a lot, as well as appearing on IRC. All this and he still says he doesn't have the time to be a fully active member!

FM/CM Spearhawk (129):
09/08/01 - Uploaded Flight III page at http://w1.183.telia.com/~u18312284/
11/08/01 - Flew FREE-XWA #13 for ship-wide competition (+6)
Comments: Spearhawk's activity record seems low, but he is still working hard for the TAC. He's been seen posting on every medium, and can often be found in IRC (although he's usually busy beta-testing something).
