- The Koph thing should start soon (about time!) The CMDR/LC Firebird just went on a short leave, so I am assuming we'll start when he gets back. Still no word on what battle we'll be flying.
- Word from Monaghan! He going to be available to fly in the comp after the 20th of this month. So I'm going to try to work the comp due date around that. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything new.

- This week's rant:

I've picked up a new hobby - aquariums.

I added my first few fish into the tank last night and all I did was sit and watch them swim. I was hypnotized. But that feeling of excitement and awe is to be expected with anything you start to take up - at least in the beginning. As my cat and I slowly get used to this new piece of furniture in my house and to the little swimming life forms inside, I know that the fascination I have watching them swim around might not be the same six months or a year from now. It will take variation to make it always seem fresh - adding a new fish, rearranging the plants or gravel, maybe one of my fish will give birth... but if each of these relatively small tasks occur, it will be enough to hold my attention and keep me involved and in awe of the underwater world I have helped to create.

And the same can be said of our world here in the EH (you knew it was coming). For most of us, we've been at this for a long while now. And sometimes it gets really old. I know I've had my share of it - those days where the thought of going onto IRC is repulsive and the last thing I want to see in my inbox is a slew of submissions from Gallows because he just decided to up and fly 30 missions. But I continue to get excited about the EH and I continue to do my best to be a part of it. I find those little things to keep me interested. I go onto IRC, I read the message boards, and recently, I've started to play with our subgroups. I rejoined the Directorate and began to play Conquest - it's a great game, try it! I also signed up for the Fringe and have begun to play on the MUD. Each of these has allowed me to see a different side of the EH, meet new people with new ideas and it's done nothing but expand my own opinions and ideas about this club. It's kept me fascinated.

I hope each of you, in some way, try to rediscover that fascination with this club that we all felt in the first year of membership - why not rediscover TIE Fighter or XWA as Dave and Janich have started to do recently, or try the MUD or one of our other subgroups, try to design a mission - do something! No matter what small effort you put forth you will gain something by it and as an added bonus you'll help keep things interesting not only for yourself, but for you squad mates and fellow EH members as well.
