Fleet News
Not much of major interest going on in the fleet. It’s final exam time, and many of our officers are occupied with their studies. Our Battlegroup commander also resigned. 'Tis the season, it would seem. As always, check the TC News page (http://www.tiecorps.org/news.asp) for the latest.

Wing News
In addition to our new Commode…I mean Commodore, we have a new Water Closet…I mean Wing Commander. Everyone say hello to a familiar face; the former commander of Hammer Squadron – Major Lohr!

Squadron News
Spear Squadron flew into battle against Inferno with greatly reduced numbers, and we got our butts kicked. Only LCM Ironfist (squadron Top Gun) and myself managed to fly. Quite frankly, I’m very disappointed by this. All single squadron competitions are officially on HOLD until we get this sorted out.

Last week I said that I was going to post a recruiting notice in the TC forum. I’ve opted not to do this until mid-May, due to the exams mentioned in the Fleet News section. I know this doesn’t impact all of us, but I’d like a Spear recruiting post to hit when people have their attention on the TC and not on those pesky finals.

Communication. It needs to be better. If you have any questions as to my requirements for communication, take a look at the Squadron Standing Orders posted at http://spearsquadron.ehonline.org and see what’s expected. At the minimum I need to see a bit of e-mail from you once a week. This lets me know that these WSRs are getting through, and you can just say hello and let me know how things are going. Some of you are very good at this. Others could use some work. I’m not going to point fingers here – you know who you are…:-P

Some of you may have also noticed that I changed the nickname and motto of Flight 3.

Miscellaneous
We still need some ideas for future squadron activities. One thing I’m considering is a ‘group story’ that we could submit to the Dark Sentinel. More will be announced on SpearWrite. Since a number of the squadron’s pilots are having joystick troubles, this will be a good way for us all to stay active and still contribute something to the TC and EH.

No one volunteered for the Tac Office position. It’s still out there, and will be filled as soon as a viable candidate appears.
