SQUADRON NEWS:
- We have a new Flight Leader! Please welcome CM Ensun Kelric (Black28@hotmail.com) to the squadron, who
takes over the position of Flight III's leader. Drop him a line and welcome him to the squadron.
- After a prolonged period of silence and inactivity, MAJ Rich has been officially declared AWOL, and removed for
the Tie Corps roster. This means that another FL position has opened up. If you would like to apply for it, show me
you're worthy by being active (NOTE: I will be looking at people from the squadron and outside to fill the position).
- After another week without any response from any of you about the Avenger vs Psi competition, I've decided to
postpone it indefinitely, which is a shame, because I thought it'd be pretty cool. VA StarLion (da boss) has a plan for
a new comp. Participation in this is vital if you value your place in Avenger. Stay tuned for more info on this. The
Flight Officer has also suggested a possible competition against Tau squadron, the XWA Elite squadron. Let me
know what you people think about this.
- I've attached a couple of things to this report. The first is the updated squadron roster that has all of the email
addresses in it.
Secondly, I've attached my uniform. Its nothing spectacular, but is a pretty nice thing to do. All the graphics you
need to make one can be found at the Operations Office (http://fly.to/ops) It doesn't take long to put together. As far
as I know, not all the battles have medals yet. (NOTE: My uniform does not show my LoCs cos there wasn't enough
space). Please have a go at making one, and if you need any help, let me know.
The third thing is my INPR. I completed this in the week I joined the TC, and recently updated it. Most of you
probably have completed one, but incase you haven't, I've attached a blank copy. It only takes 5 minutes to fill out,
and adds a bit of character to your pilot and send it to me (even if you already have one completed). It can also count
as a Newsletter submission, earning you a Letter of Achievement. Go on, fill it out!
- I've had to start the squadron homepage again after some tech problems. If you'd like to create any
missions/fiction/graphics for it, send it to me. Also, if you know any HTML, and would like to help out, you efforts
will be rewarded. If you have any suggestions for what could go in the page, again, let me know.
- LT Baron Fel suggested to me the idea of holding a squadron training session with XvT and XWA, where we'd all
meet in #Avenger_squadron and take it from there. This is a great idea that I believe could really help the squadron.
From you I need the time that would be most convenient to hold it. Speaking of #Avenger_squadron, last Saturday
was the third squadron meeting. Unfortunately some tech problems prevented me from attending, but LT Fel, did,
for which I would like to thank him. This still means that the rest of haven't attended any. Like I said a while ago,
for every 4 meetings you go to, I'll award you with an ISM. the next meeting is in two weeks, I'll send out the details
closer to the time.
- The second XvT Zone competition is this Saturday, but will also include XWA. The XvT part will be 1:30-2:30
PM EST. and the XWA will be from 2:30-3:30 PM EST. Both parts will be in Clan Challenges for each game. Last
time, Avenger squadron was down to participate, but only myself attended (only flew once, and still came 4th :P) I'd
like you all to be there this time round and put in a good Avenger presence. Winners of matches will get a LoC and
members of the winning squadron will each receive an ISM. Please be there.
SQUADRON ORDERS:
- As far as I know, being in an Elite squadron permits its members to show the names of their fighters in their ID
lines. As you can see below, I've named my TIE Advanced "Avatar". I'd like each of you to name your fighters, and
let me know the names.
- I also need some good backgrounds for the homepage. If any you have some, send them to me in jpeg or GIF
format.
- It has been suggested that to make Avenger squadron more active, we need some new members, which is
something I agree with. If you think you know anyone, ask them if they are interested. At the moment, the
prerequisites of being in Avenger would be owning XWA and/or XvT (and maybe TIE too), be able to compete
online, have completed training from PLT Daedalus, and be VERY active (please emphasise this point). Flying skill
isn't important, this is something that can be improved, whereas you can't make someone more active.
