SQUADRON NEWS:
-First off, some bad news for the squadron; FM/CM Rocanon has decided to quit the EH, and is therefore no longer in Avenger Squadron. The most immediate effect that this has on the squadron is that we will no longer be able to use the previous squadron homepage (which was pretty cool). I've started work on the new squadron homepage. If you would like to help with any aspect of this, let me know how (I'm mainly looking for graphics, some HTML and so on). Remember also, if you come across a pilot who you think could be in Avenger let me know.
-During the past week, I've been in contact with two other squadron commanders (Psi/Wing II and Odin/ASF) concerning a competition of some sort between our squadrons. The exact details and times of the competitions have yet to be decided, but they'll be happening pretty soon, so stay alert.
-Once again, Avenger squadron had a dominating presence at the XWA Zone night on the weekend, with several of you coming away with a number of medals. Maybe it should be renamed to Avenger night...?
-The two squadron comps continue, with several of you submitting ideas for squadron mottos and nicknames BUT I've had none for the squadron banner. C'mon guys, an ISM is up for grabs! I've yet to put up the ideas on a page, but I'll get round to it soon so you can vote for your favourite.
SQUADRON ORDERS:
-As I mentioned above, I'm still taking entries for the 2 squadron comps. The deadline is this Sunday night.
-I'd like to get Squadron meetings on IRC going. They'll probably be bi-weekly. I intend to have the first one this Sunday at around
7pm GMT in #Avenger_Squadron on Undernet. This'll be an informal thing where you guys have the chance to exchange ideas, comments and generally talk. If any of you can't make it, or the time is too awkward, let me know. As an added incentive, for every 4 meetings you come to, I'll award you with an ISM.
-This squadron is run by you as much as it is by me. For it to be a great squadron, we need to be constantly doing new things which we can all be involved with. If you have an idea for a squadron activity, of any sort, contact me and we'll work at putting it into effect.
