Greetings pilots!
Incase you don't know by now, I'm Commander Priyum, the new CMDR of Avenger squadron. From what I understand, Avenger has been without a CMDR for some time now, meaning that squadron may not have the status and reputation it should have. I have been offered this position in the hope that I can, with the help of you all, make Avenger into a truly Elite squadron.
Since I am new to the squadron, and unknown to most of you, I'll be needing a fair amount of information from you all, so that I can get things arranged and organised quickly. I'll need from each of you the following:
* A list of your medals (the list on tiecorps.org is rarely correct).
* A list of the IWATS courses you have passed, as well as those for which you may be awaiting the results.
* A list of Star Wars games you have.
* The time zone in which you live.
* Any relevant skills you may have (Graphics, HTML, fiction etc).
* So as to know you all better, I'd also like from each of you a brief history about your career in the Tie Corps/EH.
I'm new to the CMDR position, Avenger being my first squadron to command. This means that the aspects of running a squadron, whilst not unknown to me, will be a little 'challenging'. If you ever have any suggestions, comments or complaints, please get in touch with me and I will take onboard all you have to say. I think communication within the squadron is very important for getting enjoyment out of the EH. You should regularly communicate with your fellow officers.
Although Avenger is an ASF squadron, this doesn't flying multiplayer should be the only thing we do. Flying the custom made battles, creating fiction, missions and graphics are all things that TC members are encouraged to do, and it shouldn't be any different for an Elite squadron. If you keep active, you'll probably discover soon that I'm very generous when it comes to things like medals and promotions :)
Avenger has a responsibility of proving itself to really be an Elite squadron. I think competitions against other TC squadrons is the best way to show this. In due course I'll organise these comps, but in the mean time, if any you would like Avenger to fly against a particular squadron, then let me know, as well as what form the comp should take.
I'll be doing the usual CMDR things like sending out weekly squadron reports and such like. I'd also like to get a bi-weekly squadron meeting going on mIRC, probably in #Avenger, on Undernet. This would be a great opportunity to meet up with your fellow squadron members and exchange ideas and opinions. Again, this will be organised in due time. If you have a suggestion for a time at which this meeting could be held, let me know.
To this email I've attached the current roster. Personally I think an Elite squadron should have a near 100% full roster. If you think you've come across a TC pilot who may be worthy of being an Avenger pilot, let me know their ID line and email address. Although flying skill is very important, being active and consistent is also worth taking note of.
This email is also an AWOL check. I'd appreciate it if you could all reply within the next couple of days (this is so that I know that you got this email---the information can be sent at your own convenience)
