Welcome to this weeks squadron briefing, please be seated:
SQUADRON NEWS:
- First, and most importantly, I've signed up for our squadron message board. It can be found at
http://www.sitepowerup.com/mb/view.asp?BoardID=111240 The rosters at the TC homepage have been updated to
show the link, as well as the link to the our homepage, which I've also changed a little. I urge you all to use the
message board, for announcements, questions and general talk. A couple of you have already posted there, which is
good. I'd like you all to visit it at least once every other day, and post there.
- The results of last Sundays XWA Zone competition finally came through. I was pleased to see a number of
Avenger's pilots there, flying well. AFAIK, LT K'Tehmok came 2nd, and I came 3rd (no losses :P) We're both
awarded with the relevant LoCs, and an ISM each.
- Earlier this week I awarded LT K'Tehmok with another Imperial Security Medal for his work on his own TC
webpage and the creation of some fiction. I encourage you all to follow the LTs lead, and do something like this.
- I have been awarded with a Silver Star of the Empire(!) by FA Astatine for my XvT-XWA academy work. As for
the Academy, it'll be opening soon. Some changes have been made, and some new staff need to be hired. These'll be
Academy Instructors (XADI), who aid the Academy Supervisors (XADS-FireFox and I). Basically, the XADI's job
is to on one night of the week host a game for an Academy pilot ( or 2 pilots) in which he/she will carry out a
particular mission, in accordance with the Academy graduation requirements e.g.. Dogfight - 2 cadets (piloting T/Is)
Vs each other (instructor will be there and watch the fight). There are four such skirmishes that need to be completed
by the pilots. The job of the XADI is to make sure that the battle has been properly and fairly fought. The instructor
is then to report the battle to the XADS, who makes the appropriate update to the pilots record. Each division, XvT
or XWA, is looking for 3 such instructors. AFAIK, MAJ FireFox (XvT Division) has already got some people in
mind, so I'm looking for XWA Instructors. If you're interested in this job, then please let me know. It doesn't really
take much time, and you would be appropriately credited for your work.
- The squadron meeting was held last week, with most of you turning up. Although no-one flew, I still think it was a
success. I'm planning to hold the next meeting next Sunday, at 1730 hours, EST (2230 hours GMT). I hope you can
make it. If you can't, please inform me (post it on the board). Please remember, for every 4 meetings you attend, I'll
be awarding you with an ISM.
- The first Project: Faithful battle was held a couple of nights ago, and I personally thought it was a great success
(even though my side lost :P) Half of the squadron play roles in the Project, myself, LCM Baron Fel and CM Sean.
- LC Kaye, of Raptor squadron, suggested that our competition take the form of a skirmish with several pilots from
each squadron. Personally, I think this is a bad idea, mainly due to the terrible lag it would cause. I suggested the
form used on the OR/Zone nights, i.e. One on One. I'd like to know your thoughts on this. Also, I've told him that
EVERYONE from Avenger will be taking part. I'm expecting you all to do so...
- I've started something new within the squadron, involving the FLs. They're to start sending me Flight Reports,
much like squadron reports, but for their flights only. I'm hoping that each one also starts their own little project.
