Squadron News

Again this week has been pretty quiet but not as quiet as last week with a few pilots doing some flying. I have been appointed to the position of Imperial Liason for the Intelligence Division’s Diploserv. Myself and Major Wil Striker of Samekh Squadron had a Free Tie Competition to see who would be appointed to this position.

Just to remind everyone that we do have a message board and I would like to start seeing some cantina talk happening in there. The URL for our message board is:

Anyone who has not completed TC-Tie 171 ONLY has 4 more days left to complete it. I want 100% participation for this competition. So far 6 pilots have completed this battle…

I was checking out the roster page on the TC site the other day and noticed that we definitely need a new squadron Banner… you can view our old one below. I am offering an Imperial Security Medal to whom ever creates the best looking banner. The only thing I want in it is our squadron name and our motto… “Nostros Vindictatis! - Vengeance is ours!” I want the banner to be a decent size… roughly the same size as the one below or a bit bigger. The rest is up to you pilots.



Wing V News

Wing V vs. Wing VI – May Competition
Everyone fly TC – Tie 171

Average laserless score of each wing's top 12 scoring pilots will determine the wing winner. Top scorer in each wing will receive IS-SW; runnerup in each wing, IS-BW.

Communications channels - We have dropped the old message board; the
official board of Wing V is now the MB in the TIE Corps Message Center. Also, we are trying a new Topica e-mail list, having dropped the unreliable Yahoo Groups list.

Weekly Wing Meetings.....Saturdays, the weekly Wing meeting in the Airlock at 1300 HRS EST, 1 PM for those that don't know the 24 hour clock. All pilots of Wing V are encouraged to attend this meeting so that everyone will be up to date with what is going
on in the Wing, and it also gives everyone a chance to share any ideas they may have.

SovMan Competition:

What's that? Up in the sky?
Faster than a speeding T/B!
Stronger than the odor of Crusher the Hutt!
Able to leap tall Jawas in a single bound!
It's a mynock! It's a Star Destroyer!
No...it's SOVMAN!!!!

To protect his secret identity, SovMan lives as a
mild-mannered TIE pilot. But when danger or
disrespect threaten the SSSD Sovereign or the EH,
he rushes to a convenient docking bay and
transforms himself into SOVMAN, PROTECTOR OF
JUSTICE, DEFENDER OF HONOR, UPHOLDER OF ORDER AND
POLISHER OF THE AXIAL SUPERLASER!!!

Gentlemen, I would like to invite you to take part
in a competition to design a costume for SovMan,
the Sov's local superhero! Note that this is NOT
a graphics comp: the prettiest picture might win,
but a scanned-in crayon scribbling might win, too.
What we are looking for is the coolest superhero
costume you can develop for SovMan! Costume
should look good in color or B&W.

All officers serving on the SSSD Sovereign are
invited to submit their designs in any form they
prefer. Make an original graphic! Build a clay
model and sent the photo! Edit the attached
preliminary sketch! Sew a costume, dress up as
SovMan, and send us the picture! Paint a RPG
miniature! If you have no scanner, let me know and
I'll send you a mailing address for art or photos
(but you'll have to mail it early to make the deadline!)

Entries should me e-mailed to me, COL Inkwolf at
inkwolf@earthlink.net. Judging will be carried
out by COM/FA Kramer, myself, and LT Ryan Tribal
of Hey Squadron, originator of the SovMan concept.
Medals have been preapproved by the TO, but given
the reaction of the Ops office to some comps, no
definite promises will be made ahead of time. :)

SovMan can't fight our enemies in the nude (well
he could but it'd be against some regulation I'm
sure) so please get those uniform designs in by
June 15th!

SSSD Sovereign Top Gun Competition
Omega Squadron and the Fleet Medical Corps are sponsoring a ship-wide competition to determine who the number one TIE and XWA pilot on the Sov is. All pilots are encouraged to fly either Free TIE #93 or Free XWA #17 and turn it into their CMDRs no later than May 27th. If you have any questions, please contact General Devin.
This is a great opportunity for you to get some recognition for yourself, your squadron and your wing - take advantage of it!
